Cast Members Fill Us in on the New Magicband+

Any day now we are awaiting official updates from Disney World about when the brand new MagicBand+ will be up and fully functioning. It seems we are definitely inching closer to this day after we got a sneak peek from Disney World Cast Members yesterday on Facebook.

“Some lucky Cast Members got to enjoy a sneak peek of one of the new MagicBand+ in-park experience – the Disney Fab 50 Quest! Using the power of the MagicBand+, Cast got to bring some of their favorite Disney Characters to life. WE love seeing this fun new technology in action and can’t wait to play along when MagicBand+ launches this summer!”

In case you missed it, the new and improved MagicBand+ comes with all kinds of fancy new features. One of the most exciting new features that will be available with this upgraded MagicBand+ is the ability to interact with “Hey Disney!”. A brand new voice recognition technology attached to your MagicBand+ which will act in a similar fashion to Apple’s Siri, and Amazon’s Alexa.

With “Hey Disney!” you’ll be able to switch between different character voices and ask your MagicBand Park and hotel-specific questions. We haven’t seen an example of this in real life yet, but we imagine it’s coming soon now that Walt Disney World Cast Members are already trying out another feature on the MagicBand+, Disney Fab 50 Quest. With this feature you’ll be able to interact with sculptures around the Parks and venture on a Park-wide quest, unlocking digital achievements along the way.

We do know that Disney announced the MagicBand+ would be available in Walt Disney World Resort this summer, but seeing we do not yet have a confirmed launch date, we can only hope that it will be sooner than later in the summer so that summer visitors will be able to take full advantage of the new MagicBand+ features.
