Last week, we reported on Disney California Adventure Park’s newest change: the retheming of Pacific Wharf into San Fransokyo. Now, we’re here to report a fun update on the situation!

During last year’s D23 Expo, it was announced that California Adventure Park’s Pacific Wharf would be rethemed into San Fransokyo, the fictional setting from Disney’s fan-favorite film, Big Hero 6 (2014). Now that the construction has officially begun, Disney has started covering other areas of the immersion.
A new casting call has appeared on the DisneyCareers website. If there are any performers who are looking to work with Disneyland entertainment, check out the latest character needed on the Disney Auditions page: Hiro Hamada.

Hiro Hamada is the main protagonist of Big Hero Six, and he’s often seen with his older brother’s invention, Baymax, the “personal healthcare companion” turned superhero.

At only 14 years old, Hiro Hamada is in his young teens, but don’t let his childish appearance fool you! He’s totally brilliant and is often described as a born genius. Not only that, but the character is half-Japanese and half-Caucasian, making him one of the characters adding to Disney’s diversity.

Disney Live Entertainment is excited to be seeking performers local to Southern California for the Character Look-Alike role, HIRO HAMADA. This role is based on the lead from Disney’s animated feature, Big Hero 6. Performers appear each day in character greetings before thousands of guests, signing autographs, posing for pictures, and helping to create magical moments with guests of all ages.
Seeking the following role:
HIRO HAMADA: 5’3″ – 5’5″, with a slender build, and youthful, outgoing personality. Typecast.
