Splash Mountain Becomes Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain followed Br’er Rabbit as he left home for greener pastures. However, he spent his adventure being chased by the terrifying Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear. When Br’er Rabbit made it home, he declared that there was no place better than “home sweet home.”
Disneyland Resort closed its version of Splash Mountain in May 2023, months after Walt Disney World Resort. The Song of the South (1946) ride was long criticized for its connection to a film that offensively depicted post-Civil War American life.
Magic Kingdom Park debuted its version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure this summer, providing a sneak peek at the upcoming Disneyland Park ride. The Princess and the Frog (2009) log flume ride takes place after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film.
Guests join Disney Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Louis the alligator (Michael-Leon Wooley), Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis), and Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos) as they prepare for a party on the Bayou. The Princess and the Frog crew gather the perfect band to celebrate the culture and cuisine of New Orleans.
