Tomorrowland Animatronic Suffers Frightful Malfunction in This Shocking Video

The modern technology used to make the immersive attractions at Disney Parks is nothing short of miraculous.

The props, lighting, and special effects make every attraction a new and exciting experience. Animatronic figures help to make beloved characters come to life at Walt Disney World.

But sometimes, technology fails us, and those technical difficulties can have some scary-looking consequences!

A Disney fan account on TikTok (@everythingdisney133) is known for posting fun videos about various Disney Parks and movies, but they recently posted something uncharacteristically unsettling for a Walt Disney World attraction!

As seen in the video above, Buzz Lightyear (the iconic space ranger from the Toy Story film series) is giving a speech to rally Guests together to defeat Zurg (Lightyear’s sworn enemy).

However, the Buzz Lightyear animatronic’s hand has fallen out of its socket and is being held together by wires and cables. Most unsettling of all is how the hand itself is still moving as it swings around the space ranger.

It’s safe to say that Guests riding Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin aren’t meant to see the Toy Story (1995) character like this!

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a slow-moving dark ride, taking Guests on a journey through the ‘Gamma Quadrant,’ where they can shoot at targets and earn points.

The ‘XP-37 star cruiser’ Guests board is known for being able to spin a full 360 degrees at the rider’s command so that Guests can shoot at the targets all around them.

The attraction is usually fun for all ages, but with the hero of Star Command looking a little worse for wear, the experience is probably a little more jarring than usual!

We don’t know when this video was first taken, but we certainly hope Buzz Lightyear will be in one piece the next time we visit Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
