Walt Disney World is primarily known as a family-friendly destination filled with attractions, entertainment, and experiences for guests of all ages to enjoy together. While this is certainly true, the Disney Parks are also home to a fair share of thrilling attractions and those that feature height requirements, especially one park in particular. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a very popular place to visit thanks to its perfect combination of family friendly experiences and big thrills. Guests who spend time in the Disney Park can wander through Andy’s backyard from Toy Story, visit the planet of Batuu and enter the Star Wars universe, see favorite animated classics come to life, and much more. While Disney’s Hollywood Studios has seen much change over the previous few years, it has also seen the growth and addition of some amazing attractions that together now make the park a must do! 1. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings guests to the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu where there is both a Rebel base as well as the First Order. Guests absolutely love to enjoy riding on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run where they find themselves recruited by the Rebel Alliance and asked to board the famous ship to help retrieve some precious cargo. Guests are assigned roles onboard including pilot and engineer and watch their control of the ship play out in real time, making it a totally unforgettable experience.
2. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Also found in Galaxy’s Edge is the upcoming Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction which will open December 5, 2019. Promising to be one of the most popular attractions in Walt Disney World ever, this experience also recruits guests as members of the Resistance and has them embark on a mission against the First Order. Unfortunately, guests soon find themselves captured, and the attraction features many thrills and character encounters throughout a daring escape.
3. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues
The final attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios based on Star Wars can be found in the Grand Avenue area of the park. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues brings guests on a regular Star Tours flight that soon becomes part of the Resistance when a Rebel Spy is discovered on board. Featuring a randomized experience of 3D scenes with familiar locations and characters, Star Tours – The Adventure Continues is an amazing way to step into the Star Wars universe.
4. Slinky Dog Dash
Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers guests the opportunity to become the size of toys and enter into Andy’s backyard where familiar characters and wonderful experiences await. Slinky Dog Dash is a thrilling coaster built by Andy himself which has guests board Slinky Dog and blast off onto the track. With two separate launch sequences and high portions of track that offer great views of the Disney Park, Slinky Dog Dash is a must do!
5. Toy Story Mania
Also found in Toy Story Land is the popular Toy Story Mania which has guests get involved in a little friendly competition. The must do attraction brings guests through a series of 3D midway games each hosted by different Toy Story characters. Guests can break plates with the Green Army Men and aim darts with Rex all while competing to see who cans score the highest on this absolutely amazing attraction!
6. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Sunset Boulevard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings the glamour and charm of the 1930s to life and is also home to an attraction that looks slightly out of place. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is housed inside the dilapidated Hollywood Tower Hotel which was quickly abandoned years ago. Guests who brave the attraction board an elevator and head deep into the structure to learn the fate of what happened to missing guests years ago and soon find themselves plummeting directly into The Twilight Zone!
7. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Right next to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at the end of Sunset Boulevard is another thrilling attraction that invites guests to rock out. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith begins as a routine tour of G Force Records when guests suddenly bump into the band and receive backstage passes to a show across town. Guests soon board super stretch limos and find themselves launching from zero to sixty in seconds through the lights of downtown and through two inversions to make it to the show on time.
8. Voyage of the Little Mermaid
One of the most beloved Disney animated films of all time is The Little Mermaid and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to a live production that retells the story of Ariel and Prince Eric. Voyage of the Little Mermaid combines live acting with animation, special effects, puppets, and more to bring the classic story to life in a brand new way that guests will absolutely love. This unforgettable performance runs continuously throughout each day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is a must do on each visit to the park!
