After 16 years of thrilling Disneyland Resort guests, the beloved Toy Story Midway Mania! temporarily disappeared from Disney California Adventure Park due to an unexpected ride breakdown. The attraction, which has been a fan favorite since its 2008 debut, unexpectedly stopped, leaving guests stranded in an unusual situation.

The incident occurred when the interactive 4-D ride broke down, leaving guests unable to continue their usual competitive gameplay. While the Pixar Pier ride was down, the screens inside continued to display the familiar instruction to “pull the strings to shoot,” even though the interactive elements were no longer functioning. Guests could still fiddle with the prop guns, but they were left unable to engage with the game.

TikTok user @theskinl0ve shared a video of her experience, showing herself and another guest waiting for assistance near the ride’s loading area. The video humorously captured the moment, with the guests still wearing their 3D glasses while staring at families waiting to board the ride.

“When you get stuck on a disney ride….with your bestie…facing the crowd,” @theskinl0ve captioned the video. “Why do we still have the 3D glasses on?! We sat here for a cute minute too.”

Despite the ride’s temporary breakdown, the guests made the best of the situation, joking about the ride’s malfunction. One of the guests noted, “Uh, nothing is happening, as you can see,” before joking, “I should be shooting!”

Disneyland Resort typically doesn’t release specific details about brief ride closures, and this incident was no exception. The exact length of the breakdown and whether any Toy Story Midway Mania! riders needed evacuation remain unclear. However, the attraction has since reopened and resumed regular operation, much to the relief of guests.
