The Walt Disney World Resort, just like the real world, is a much different place after the pandemic altered many aspects of the “The Most Magical Place on Earth” in 2020.

In the years since Disney Parks and Resorts began their phased reopenings, we have seen most experiences return. As of this writing, many of Disney’s most popular attractions, restaurants, and even shops, are back in full operation, however, a few missing pieces are still leaving Guests wondering whether they will ever return.

Most of the missing restaurants are located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, where 1900 Park Fare and the Garden View Tea Room have yet to return since they closed in March 2020. With this Resort undergoing a major renovation of its lobby, and with the recent updates to other dining locations like Victoria & Albert’s and Narcoossee’s, we have speculated that the closed restaurants will return when later renovations are completed.

One of the best Disney character dining experiences that has yet to return is actually located in the EPCOT Resort Area right on Disney’s BoardWalk.

Trattoria al Forno has been serving up delicious Italian cuisine and Italian-inspired breakfast options since it opened in 2014. And just a few years later, the restaurant began offering a specialty breakfast experience with some of Disney’s most beloved princesses (accompanied by their princes!) with the “Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast.”

This character breakfast quickly became a popular choice for Guests due to its more unique menu compared to many family-style and buffet options, which is what Guests will usually find when it comes to character breakfasts at Walt Disney World.

During the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast, Guests could meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled (2010), as well as Ariel and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid (1989), while enjoying menu items like egg white omelet with smoked salmon, goat cheese, spinach, mushrooms and tomato, buttermilk pancakes with bacon or sausage, and a “breakfast calzone” made with scrambled eggs, cured meat and cheeses.

Since Trattoria al Forno’s reopening in 2020, the restaurant has served its regular dinner menu, plus breakfast options daily from 7:30-11:30 a.m. While breakfast at Trattoria al Forno is still delicious (and something we’d highly recommend for a breakfast near EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios before heading to the Parks), many Guests are still missing the character dining experience that was offered here before.

According to Disney’s official website, the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast is “temporarily unavailable.” In general, experiences listed as “temporarily unavailable” have returned, eventually. Other locations around Walt Disney World that have stayed closed since 2020 have been removed from the website and the My Disney Experience altogether, so it is certainly hopeful to see the information still listed online.

Disney has not yet shared when the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast will return to Trattoria al Forno, but we join other fans who have been missing this experience in hoping that it returns in its original format as it is one of the only opportunities to meet some of these princesses with their princes at Walt Disney World.

As always, we will be back with additional information as new updates are available from Disney here on Disney Tips.
