Refurbishment Scheduled for Another Popular Disney Dining Experience

Trattoria al Forno Refurbishment feature

Major renovations are underway at one of the most popular Resorts at Walt Disney World, and along with current construction projects, a new closure has been noted on the calendar.

Many of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts come with special perks and amenities that for some Guests, make the higher price points well worth the splurge. Magic Kingdom area Deluxe Resorts feature three hotels on the monorail loop, each offering immersive theming as well as a quick and easy way to get to Disney World’s original theme park.

Off the monorail loop, but still an easy trip via a Resort launch, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground recently confirmed refurbishments of both Trail’s End Restaurant and the cabins at Fort Wilderness themselves.

Near EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Resorts settled around Crescent Lake make it a breeze to get to both Parks. Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin are all within walking distance of each other and just a short walk or boat ride to Hollywood Studios or EPCOT’s International Gateway.

If you plan to visit the EPCOT Resort area on an upcoming trip, one new refurbishment was recently announced.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is home to several restaurants, including the recently opened BoardWalk Deli, Flying Fish Cafe, Big River Grille and Brewing Works, and Trattoria al Forno. And a new location will open later this year at this Disney Resort as the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is currently under construction to replace the former ESPN Club.

One of the best restaurants for families at the BoardWalk has been Trattoria al Forno, an Italian table-service restaurant (that prior to the pandemic served one of Disney World’s best character breakfasts.)

According to Disney’s official website, a brief refurbishment is scheduled for Trattoria al Forno from June 11-17, 2023.

In addition to the continued pause on the location’s character breakfast, Disney’s official website notes:

Please note: Trattoria al Forno will be closed from June 11 to June 17, 2023 as it undergoes refurbishment. No dinner offerings will be available. However, Trattoria al Forno will provide a limited breakfast menu during those dates, with Guests who book breakfast being directed to dine in the Flying Fish dining room.

The refurbishment will primarily impact Guests who would have planned a dinner at Trattoria al Forno as breakfast will still be served to anyone with reservations nearby in the Flying Fish dining space.

With no major updates to Trattoria al Forno announced, we expect the temporary closure to be a routine refurbishment. (We would be thrilled, however, if Disney did confirm that the Bon Voyage character breakfast would soon return, though!)

As you plan your next trip, remember you can always make reservations for available dining experiences and note any scheduled renovations on Disney’s official website and on the My Disney Experience app.
