Hurricane Ian devastated parts of southern Florida and left severe flooding in the Orlando area when the storm came through as a Category 4 hurricane earlier this week.
The Walt Disney World Resort was among the first Central Florida attractions to reopen following the storm, with most Parks, Resorts, and amenities up and running by midday on Friday, September 30. While most areas have reopened and are operating normally by now, work is still being done to assess damage and cleanups, and one Disney Resort has had to postpone its reopening.

The Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa were originally scheduled to reopen this Monday, October 3, however, the latest update to Disney’s weather status page shows that the villas are now “temporarily closed,” along with Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
The villas are some of the most unique places to stay at Walt Disney World, offering a quiet getaway the whole family can enjoy together with all the conveniences of home as a Disney Vacation Club Resort. The Treehouse Villas are likely more challenging than standard hotel rooms to assess and repair damage from the hurricane as they are more remote and located in heavily wooded areas.

The main buildings of Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa have reopened, and most other Disney Vacation Club properties are available at this time, too, so if you end up needing to change your reservation from the Treehouse Villas there should be a DVC reservation open that will still work for your upcoming trip.
Along with the two Resorts that are still closed following the hurricane, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is set to reopen tomorrow, October 2, 2022. Disney’s Blizzard Beach remains closed for the season at this time with no reopening date confirmed so far.

Disney’s official description for Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa reads:
Inspired by historic Saratoga Springs—a late-1800s’ New York retreat famous for its spas and horse racing—this charming, Victorian-style Resort hotel is nestled between rolling golf course greens and the shimmering Lake Buena Vista. Delight in stately Studios and multi-bedroom Villas, dazzling pools and a spa.
