Top 5 Attractions At Walt Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon

Disney water parks are truly just as amazing and magical as the major theme parks that you can experience while at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Typhoon Lagoon is a waterpark that was hit by a major typhoon and left everything a shipwrecked mess.  Among the wreckage are amazing attractions that will provide a full day of fun for the whole family.  Here is a list of what I consider to be the top 5 attractions to make sure you experience:

5. Miss Adventure Falls

New to Typhoon Lagoon as of Spring 2017, Miss Adventure Falls is a family-style raft attractions that takes 4 guests per raft on a fast-paced journey down river where you might just spot treasures along the way! The best part of Miss Adventure Falls is that it is two minutes in length, making it one of the longest attractions at both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach Water Parks.

4. Castaway Creek

Are you in the mood for relaxation and little bit of a slower paced break during your play time?  Well look no further.  The 2,000 foot lazy river is exactly what you are looking for.  You can grab a tube and float around enjoying the scenic views, tunnels, bridges and be a part of the wreckage for the area.  The tubes are included with the price of admission, so no tube rentals to worry about.  This is something that the whole family can enjoy!

3. Humunga Kowabunga

Are you up for a real thrill?  How about a 5-story, near vertical drop in the dark?  This water slide is 214 feet and drops you at a 60 degree angle, so hold onto your bathing suit as you experience this slide!  This attraction is for guests 48” and up, so plan ahead your turns if you have little ones in your party.  Be sure to shout “Kowabunga” as you slide, if you can stop screaming long enough!

2. Surf Pool

This just so happens to be North America’s largest wave pool.  The wave pool generates such perfect surfing waves that surfing training, parties and competitions are actually held at the pool.  You will want to brace yourself and prepare to be tossed around when these waves start coming at you.  Tubes aren’t allowed in the pool, so be sure to keep an eye on all members of your party and take extra caution with weaker swimmers.  Surf’s up, dude!

1. Crush ‘n’ Gusher

If I am forced to pick a favorite (which is so hard to do) this would probably be it!  Crush ‘n’ Gusher is a water coaster.  You ride on tubes and can even ride a dual tube so that you and a friend can enjoy the experience together.  The slides are 400 feet long and you are propelled through the three different experience and even through blackout tunnels so you won’t know what comes next.  The three courses are named the Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher and the Banana Blaster.  They are all different experiences, so make sure that you experience all 3!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
