Earlier this month, bodycam footage of a March 2024 incident at Universal Orlando Resort emerged on YouTube. In the video, children watched as a police officer tackled their mother, who allegedly entered Universal Studios Florida without a valid theme park ticket.

According to the video, posted by the Cop Action On Cam channel, Universal Orlando Resort security noticed the woman walking through the park entrance without scanning a ticket. Security promptly alerted law enforcement, and the officers followed the woman as she moved through the Port of Entry area.

When the officer approached her, he asked where her theme park ticket was. “My mother-in-law has it,” she replied. “… I’m trying to figure out why [security] is stopping me.”

The officer informed the guest that she was in the park illegally. “You don’t have a ticket right now,” the officer said. “You’re in the park. Right now, it’s a theft of service. So let’s go.”

Despite the officer’s request to walk to Universal Orlando Resort’s security office, the woman refused, instead attempting to walk away while speaking on the phone. When the officer caught up with her, he gave her one more chance to comply, warning her that she would be arrested if she didn’t go to the security office.

“Just take me to jail, baby,” she responded. It was at this point that the officer tackled her to the ground and handcuffed her.

“My mother-in-law has my ticket!” she shouted as she lay on the ground. “…Somebody record! I have a ticket!”

As the officer escorted the woman to the security office, she repeatedly accused him of being “racist” and urged bystanders to record the arrest.

“This f***er slammed me down. You’d better be glad you’re a police officer,” she yelled at him.

“If you’d have acted like a normal human being, you wouldn’t be here,” the officer said. “What don’t you understand? I am a police officer.”

The woman continued to resist, even after being brought to the security office. She refused to sit down and was eventually taken to a police car. She initially wouldn’t get in, but complied after being warned that she could be sprayed with pepper spray.

The woman eventually admitted she was under the influence of alcohol, and once again insisted that she had a valid ticket.

“We have yet to see these tickets,” a sergeant told her. “How are you going to produce these tickets?”

Before being transported to jail, the woman claimed she would have shown the initial officer her ticket if he hadn’t spoken to her “rudely.”

The woman’s husband posted the $1,000 bail, but the woman failed to appear at her scheduled court dates. As a result, she currently has an active arrest warrant.

Universal Orlando Resort has not made any public statements regarding this incident.
