UPDATE on Disney’s Minnie Van Service Opportunity

Walt Disney World does many things really well, but one of the most important services that they offer their Guests is the free transportation between the Resorts and the Parks.

Guests can take the Monorail from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to the Magic Kingdom. Guests can travel through the air on the Disney Skyliner, between Disney’s Pop Century and EPCOT. There are even buses and boats to transport Guests from the Resorts to Disney Springs, and it’s all complimentary.

In 2017, Walt Disney World teamed up with Lyft to introduce the “Minnie Van” Service. The service offered Guests another transportation choice that they could pay for, to get around Disney property, or even to the airport. These vans get their name due to the resemblance to a certain Ms. Mouse. These vehicles are bright red with white polka dots.

Like everything else, in March of 2020, the “Minnie Van” Service was shut down due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. This brings us to late March of 2022, when Walt Disney World announced that they would once again be teaming up with Lyft to bring Disney Guests the “Minnie Van” Service, but they did not know when it would return.

Walt Disney World has still not released a date on when we can expect the service to return, but there are signs that it will be soon, and possibly as early as this summer.

Walt Disney World has recently added a listing to the Disney Careers website that they are looking for part-time drivers in the Orlando area for the “Minnie Van” Service. The listing says that

“As the Minnie Van Service Ride Associate you will use the Lyft app to connect with Guest’s that are requiring transportation within the Walt Disney World Resort.” The listing also goes on to say that “As a Minnie Van Service you will operate a company vehicle within the Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando International Airport, Private Airports and Port Canaveral.”

Since the Magical Express has shut down, Guests will now have the option to use the Minnie Van Service to get to and from Orlando International Airport. The listing also has a list of Basic Qualifications that are required for employment. This includes being at least 21 years old and in possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License for at least five years and having a record of following state and federal motor vehicle regulations. Applicants must also be receptive to random drug and alcohol testing and have at least one year of Walt Disney World Experience.

The Minnie Van Service employment listing also says that the Ride Associate is a tipped role, and the starting pay rate is $15 per hour.

If this employment listing sounds interesting to you and you meet the basic requirements, then please go to the Disney Career website to find out how to apply. Keep checking back with us at Disney Tips and we will keep watch for when Walt Disney World releases the expected start date of the “Minnie Van” Service.
