VIDEO: Idina Menzel Describes Meeting Elsa and Anna at Walt Disney World

One of the most enchanting things about Disney Parks is getting to meet the face characters. Whether seeing them as they walk around the Park, from on top of the parade floats, or during a meet-and-greet, nobody can deny that magical feeling of meeting your favorite character.

Talented actors and actresses bring these beloved characters to life for Guests every day. But what happens when the original actor meets the face character?

Recently on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2014-present), Idina Menzel spoke about meeting Elsa and Anna while visiting Disney.

In the video, Jimmy Fallon asks Idina Menzel if she finds it weird visiting Disney Parks, to which Idina answers, “No, I love to go to Disney! It’s just, sometimes they make me do a photo op with the Elsas and the Annas, but it’s really uncomfortable for me because I want to talk to them!”

Menzel continues, “I try to just be cool. I just want to be like, ‘Hey, it’s really hot here. You must be so hot in that costume.’ And Elsa will always be like, ‘Yes, it’s very hot here in Arendelle.’” At this point, she begins impersonating a face character playing Elsa, who is, in turn, impersonating her!

Jimmy Fallon laughs, saying, “Because they have to stay in character the whole time.”

The exchange goes on as Idina replies, “Yeah! They have to […], or they’ll get fired. And I’m not trying to break them, I just wanna be cool.”

The entire exchange is super hilarious, and we love the idea of the voice behind the snow queen herself trying to ‘be cool’ while meeting her own character.
