Disney World is full of amazing experiences to have with your family, with friends and even for couples all over Disney property, even where you least expect it. There are so many experiences that you probably don’t even know about all of the offerings that you have the opportunity to partake in. Here are 5 of the ones that I think are the coolest that you may want to try on your next trip to Disney World:

5. Aerophile – The World Leader in Balloon Flight

Located in Disney Springs, Aerophile (formerly known as Characters In Flight) is can’t miss! This balloon is quite impressive in that it is the world’s largest tethered helium balloon! The experience allows you to be around 400 feet in the air hovering over all of Disney Springs, and lasts from 8 to 10 minutes. The cost of the experience is $15 for children and $20 for adults. This is one that the whole family can enjoy and gives you a view of Disney Springs that you can’t get anywhere else. You won’t want to miss this one!

4. Dining with an Imagineer

The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant offers this lunch experience on select Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s. You receive a delicious 4-course meal, along with the opportunity to interact with and ask questions to a real Disney Imagineer. You can get insights into behind the scenes of Disney from a perspective that only an Imagineer can provide. All of the questions you have about how Disney pulls of their amazing experiences can be answered and give you a new appreciation for the hard work involved. If you want to further commemorate the experience, you can purchase an autographed plate that you get to take home with you. This one may not be appreciated by younger children, but is a great time for the rest of the family. The cost is around $70 per person, plus gratuity, but is well worth it!

3. DiveQuest

Any scuba divers (or wannabe scuba divers) out there? Well, you better get your scuba certification, because this experience is unlike any other. You can actually scuba dive in the 5.7 million gallon aquarium at Epcot, for a truly one-of-a-kind experience where you can enjoy the beautiful sea animals without the natural elements that could make such an adventure dangerous. You must be Scuba certified in order to participate. You also must be age 10 or older. You won’t need any gear since it is all provided and will enjoy a total of a 3-hour experience. A video of your dive can also be purchased. This excursion is a little pricey at $179 per person, but is something extremely unique and unlike what you would expect to encounter while at Disney. You friends and family members can even see you while you are on your dive (just not from backstage areas). Do I have you researching scuba certifications, yet?

2. Keys to the Kingdom Tour

So you’ve heard about the tunnels and the impressive trash systems located underneath the Magic Kingdom, right? Well this is your opportunity to see it all for yourself on this guided tour. You get the opportunity to learn so many interesting behind the scenes facts as well as get to see backstage areas that guests can’t see during a normal visit to the park. This is a 5-hour walking tour that also includes lunch and lots of behind the scenes moments and extras. This is an extremely popular tour, so be sure to book early if you think you might be interested. The cost is $99 dollars per guest and is only offered to guests aged 16 and older. Be sure to check this one out on your next trip!

1. Victoria and Albert’s

This restaurant is the most expensive and classiest restaurant on property. You will enjoy 7 to 10 course prix fixe menus depending on which dining room you are in. You can expect to pay a high price for this award winning experience, but it is certainly worth it. The restaurant also boasts the best wine lists on property as well. You must adhere to the very strict upscale dress code, which sets the tone for the impeccable service and meal that you can expect from this world class restaurant. You can even reserve a more private experience at the chef’s table for one of the most amazing dining experiences to be had on property. If amazing dining experiences are entertaining and appealing to you, then this is the place for you. This is another location you will want to make reservations early for to ensure that you don’t miss out. Also, expect to pay high prices while you enjoy one of the best meals on property.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
