Smile and say Cheese!  Photos are one of my favorite souvenirs of a trip to Walt Disney World. Capturing a memory of meeting your favorite Disney character and getting a huge high-five is always a big highlight of any trip! Walt Disney World makes it very convenient to remember these fun times with their PhotoPass Service photographers strategically located in those picturesque locations around the park; just look for the Cast Members in the tan vests.  If you’re the one taking the pictures and never actually in the shot, this is a perfect solution. The photographer will scan your MagicBand after the photos are taken, and Voila! The pictures will magically show up in the My Disney Experience app to view, download, or purchase. Don’t hesitate to ask the photographer to snap a picture with your own camera as well. Walt Disney World also offers the Memory Maker option to purchase, which includes a copy of all of your PhotoPass images for one flat fee.

With Disney’s Hollywood Studios being reimagined in so many different ways, there are iconic spots all over the park to get great pictures. The Disney photographers can add some pixie dust into your photos too with Magic Shots!  Don’t forget that many of the attractions will take a picture of you, like Slinky Dog Dash, Rock-n- Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.  Check out my list of my favorite places to get a fantastic picture taken in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and get ready to put on your best smile or goofy grin!

1. The Iconic Entrance

When you walk into Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you are greeted with the impressive view of the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. This is a popular spot for photos, and Disney Photopass photographers are located here to capture this great shot. Don’t forget to ask for the Mickey Balloons Magic Shot at this location!

2. Echo Lake

Stroll over to the Echo Lake area and strike a pose with the Dockside Diner steamer in the background. This area is a lovely and scenic spot for photographs, and it also features a Magic Shot of Olaf from “Frozen”.

3. Toy Story Land Memories

The new Toy Story Land area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is wildly popular with favorite characters from the animated Toy Story films. Who doesn’t love Buzz, Woody, the Green Army Men, the Aliens, and Slinky Dog? A popular place for a great picture is right by the larger-than-life statue of Woody at the entrance. I recommend strolling over to the Slinky Dog Dash coaster for a special photo; the Green Army Men have been known to show up in pictures at this spot!

4. Pixar Place

If you’re an Incredibles fan like my family is, you’ll want to head over to Pixar Place. Enter Municiberg, the home of this super family. While the area features an Incredibles dance party at the Super Shindig, there is a photo spot area where you’ll feel inspired to strike your favorite superhero pose!  You can also get your picture taken with Edna Mode. If you’re more of a Monsters, Inc. fan, Mike and Sully will love to meet up with you for a great photo too!

5. Star Wars Launch Bay

Enter this mecca of Star Wars memorabilia to explore costumes, models, and artwork form the Star Wars films. While you’re here, get your picture taken with Chewbacca and Kylo Ren. Both of these characters are fun to interact with, and you’ll love the pictures taken here!

6. Galaxy’s Edge

Every inch of the planet Batuu is a great place for a unique photo when you’re visiting Galaxy’s Edge. Get your picture taken with a Porg or pose with a few tie fighters in the background. A definite must-do picture can be captured by a Disney Photopass photographer by First Order Cargo. Trust me, it’s an out-of-this-world experience!

7. Sunset Boulevard

Sometimes the simplest pictures are the most classic ones. I love walking down Sunset Boulevard for glimpses of old Hollywood in the lovely shops, signs, and eateries.  This area is home to the iconic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the theater of the Stars. Photopass photographers invite you to grab a seat on one of the benches lining the sidewalk, and Mickey Mouse himself might magically make an appearance in your picture.

8. Animation Courtyard

Step through the larger-than-life squared arch and into the land where favorite Disney characters come to life. Disney Jr. characters, Ariel, and Star Wars legends are all big hits to visit here. The arch itself is a terrific spot to stop and pose for the camera before continuing on to make some great memories.

About Melissa Fegely

I have been a professional writer for over 18 years with degrees in Biology and English. I am a lifelong Disney fan and a Disney Vacation Club member of over nine years. Having visited Walt Disney World several times growing up, I really caught the Disney bug after many trips with my husband. Now I am happily addicted to taking our son to Walt Disney World as often as possible and watching him experience the magic and Mickey Bars as he grows up. Traveling to Walt Disney World twice a year, I enjoy attending the Flower and Garden festival held in the spring and strolling around the World Showcase, as well as exploring all of the hidden gems that all four parks have to offer. I love helping my family and friends plan their next Disney trips based on my experiences. I also enjoy reading, swimming, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University, and current live in suburban Philadelphia with my husband, son, and two cats.
