Disney Guests have a lot to be excited about during their Walt Disney World vacations.

From classic Disney attractions like Space Mountain, Soarin’, and Jungle Cruise, to new experiences like Star Wars Rise of the Resistance and Disney’s Harmonious, there is so much magic to be found at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

None more so than Disney’s famous fireworks spectaculars.

Happily Ever After, featuring an original song performed by Angie Keilhauer and Jordan Fisher, was permanently retired on September 29, 2021, and was succeeded by the new nighttime spectacular Disney Enchantment for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021.

Happily Ever After’s ending brought many Disney fans to tear, with many Guests holding magical memories and a strong connection to the fireworks show that had run at Magic Kingdom since May 2017.

Happily Ever After replaced the popular Cinderella Castle show, Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams, at Walt Disney World, a nighttime performance that ran for over 14 years.

Now, Disney Guests are divided over Walt Disney World’s newest fireworks show – Disney Enchantment – but that hasn’t stopped some fans to try and get the “best seats” for the show.

The all-new firework show Disney Enchantment celebrates the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. The spectacular projects Disney visuals onto Main Street, U.S.A. much like Disney Guests saw at Disneyland Resort in Disneyland Forever.

The nighttime spectacular features appearances by characters from Moana (2016), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), Ratatouille (2007), Big Hero 6 (2014), The Little Mermaid (1989), and Frozen (2013) among others.

Reactions to Disney Enchantment from Walt Disney World visitors have been lackluster, with some Guests loving the explosive magic, and others suggesting that it does not live up to its predecessor.

Here at Disney Tips, we enjoyed the show (it’s Disney fireworks, after all) and the myriad characters it features, but it does not feel like a 50th celebration fireworks show.

Though it has mixed reviews, Disney Guests begin crowding Main Street, U.S.A., and the Magic Kingdom hub, hours before the show begins to get the very best spot to see the fireworks above Cinderella Castle.

Some Guests, however, recently took this a little too far, attempting to get chairs from a nearby cafe to enhance the viewing experience.

TikTok user @the_hamilyfamily shared a video of some Disney Guests stealing chairs from a Main Street, U.S.A. dining location to sit and watch the fireworks:

Of course, any Disney regular will tell you this is unheard of, as these chairs clearly belong to the restaurant in question and are not allowed to be stolen for fireworks-watching use.

The video reveals that the Guests were approached by a Walt Disney World Resort Cast Member and advised that this behavior is not permitted. The Guests are seen to stand up, and the Cast Member returns the chairs to the cafe.

Many viewers of the video were aghast at the Disney Guests’ antics, with many commenting on the apparent entitlement and “special treatment” these Guests perceive to believe they should have. Others expressed their embarrassment at the situation, while others said if they wanted to sit for the fireworks, they should have booked the Magic Kingdom 50th Fireworks Dessert Party.

This special private event allows Guests to enjoy desserts inspired by the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, then see Disney Enchantment from a reserved area.

So, next time you want to sit down for Magic Kingdom’s fireworks, remember to find a wall, reserve a spot at a dessert party, or find a good place to sit on the floor!

Walt Disney World describes Disney Enchantment below:

Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle comes to life with magical effects that—for the first time ever—extend down Main Street, U.S.A.! Plus, enjoy dazzling new lighting that illuminates the Castle courtyard and stunning fireworks that light up the night sky. All the while, classic and reimagined Disney songs will sweep you up into the adventure of a lifetime, along with an original new song by 7-time Grammy award-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence.

Disney Enchantment, presented by Pandora, is truly a celebration of magic, imagination, joy and hope for all who carry dreams in their hearts. Throughout your journey, favorite Disney Characters like Raya, Moana and Joe Gardner from Soul will join as you explore a world of wonder filled with friendship, love and fun. And if darkness tries to hold you back, you’ll discover you only have to look within to find the power to believe and make your dreams come true. The magic has been inside you all along!

This nighttime spectacular debuted as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration—the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary.
