MagicBand+ has made its debut at the Walt Disney World Resort, with new designs offering a variety of interactive features that Guests can take advantage of all around Disney theme parks and resorts.

The new MagicBands are now available to add to packages for Annual Passholders and Guests with Disney Resort reservations. They are also ready to shop at locations around Disney Parks and on shopDisney very soon.

MagicBand+ as the latest in Disney’s MagicBand technology, does come at a higher price point than past versions of the iconic wristband, but pricing does vary a bit based on the design. If you have an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in the works and are interested in learning more about MagicBand+, we’ve got all the details for what you can expect for new designs and pricing.

The base pricing for MagicBand+ starts at $34.99, with this price being in effect for the standard solid-colored bands. Pre-arrival pricing is also available for Guests purchasing a new MagicBand+ through their upcoming Disney Resort reservation, with the base pricing, in this case, starting at $24.99.

New MagicBands that come with an enhanced design, including artwork for Mom and Dad, and bands featuring characters like Orange Bird and Disney Princesses, as well as Star Wars graphics, Disney snacks, and more, are priced at $44.99 or $34.99 for the pre-arrival rate.

MagicBand2 and original MagicBands continue to be offered, with the latter being the most affordable option coming in at $19.99 full price or just $10.00 for the pre-arrival rate.

In the past, Disney has offered limited-edition MagicBands and designer MagicBands (namely by Dooney & Bourke) that went well above these price points, but no such designs have been released for MagicBand+ so far.

Regarding the value of MagicBand+, if you visit Walt Disney World at least annually or biannually, these bands are probably the better “deal” for you as their batteries are rechargeable, whereas past versions of the MagicBand will eventually stop working.

However, the real “magic” behind MagicBand+ is the band’s ability to interact with various elements around Disney theme parks. This includes activities that focus on the Disney Fab 50 Character collection statues that were installed in the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, as well as adventures just for Star Wars fans exploring Batuu.

MagicBand+ will also interact with nighttime spectaculars, so far including Disney Enchantment at the Magic Kingdom and Harmonious in EPCOT. And, of course, it will come with all of the previous features of MagicBands, including its ability to act as a theme park ticket and Resort room key, PhotoPass download card, and access to Lightning Lane (with Genie+ or individual Lightning Lane purchase).

Will you purchase a new MagicBand+ for your next Walt Disney World vacation? New features will continue to roll out at later dates, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest MagicBand news here on DisneyTips.
