On its website, Walt Disney World describes the seasonal event as:

The Disney Springs Art Walk features both local artists and artists from around the globe who create murals bursting with color, emotion and the spirit of their cultures. Come see their artwork up close and experience the individual style and voice of each artist.

What’s more, Chacon drew inspiration from her own cultural background during Native American Heritage Month, which the US has honored each November since the 1990s. As a result, Chacon’s piece depicts the cyclical relationship between the natural landscape and the indigenous people who call it their home.

It meant a lot to me to be able to paint a piece for Disney Springs Art Walk. The opportunity has allowed me to express myself, be representative of my region and given me the ability to share my ideas in a public format.

Moreover, she hopes to impart the uniqueness of the many Indigenous nations, and the individuality each people carry within their distinctive cultures even as they come together as a larger community across the United States.
