Staying on property at a Disney Resort is one of the most magical ways to enjoy your Disney vacation. The convenience of being close to the Parks and free transportation is a luxury, to say the least. At Disney World Guests can choose from a variety of Disney World Resort hotels. They range from Value to Deluxe Villas, where Guests can select the Resort best for their budget and style.
Each Resort has its own unique theme. During the covid-19 pandemic, many things changed at Disney World, some for the better and some not. “Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Disney cut back on its hotel amenities, informing Guests that daily housekeeping was a thing of the past,” Inside the Magic reported.
Since then, regulations have gone somewhat back to normal without the need to ration towel usage. Now Guests can have housekeeping come in to make the beds, provide fresh towels, and tidy up after their long days at the Parks. Although offered, and posted in many of the Resort rooms, some Guests are finding that they are not being provided this service frequently, or at all.
Disney Resort Housekeeping Problems
All Disney Resorts have housekeeping listed in the amenities section of the webpage. Disney writes, “When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, enjoy peace of mind knowing that your room will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and throughout your visit.” Although listed, it seems some Guests have had different experiences.
One Guest wrote, “So far we’ve been here for 5 days and a housekeeper hasn’t been in our room once! Bed never made, Dirty towels are left all over I had to ask for towels one day because we had no more.” The Guest proceeded to update Reddit stating, “Just came back from AK and went straight to the front desk. They were very nice and looked into it. they said it looked like it was cleaned today and if it wasn’t to call back down. It was fully cleaned! Bed made, empty garbage, and fresh towels.”
Guests Add Their Experiences
Many Disney Guests commented on the thread of their own experiences, as well as tips for issues like this. Another commented, “We had the same issue last month, CM at check-in clicked on declined housekeeping. Talk to the front desk, we were given a free day of Genie+ and a quick service meal for our entire family (6 people).
Other Guests chimed in that they’ve had it noted they declined housekeeping but never said so when checking in. Some also wrote that heading to the front desk was the best option, as they were often met with sincerity and some kind of reward to make up for the lack of housekeeping. One Guest even added they received a credit on their room.
Disney is in the business of making their Guests happy and that seems apparent by their quick turnaround with room complaints. Additionally, the rules for each Resort are listed here with expectations of housekeeping.
