A Tron Revival?
The upcoming movie attempts to revive the Tron franchise over ten years after the last film, Tron: Legacy (2010). Although neither of the first two Tron films are considered box office successes, Disney hopes to change that with the third. Perhaps they believe that the popularity of the new coaster at Walt Disney World will lead to curiosity among Disney Park fans.
Evan Peters
Jared Leto is starring in the film, but he will be joined by the horror actor Evan Peters. Famous for playing monsters on television, Peters has been lauded for his portrayal of Jeffrey Dahmer in Netflix’s Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022). In addition to that, Peters has starred in various seasons of American Horror Story (2011-present). Throughout the show’s run, Peters has played a school shooter, serial killer, cult leader, a re-animated corpse, and other horror-inspired characters. Although it remains unlikely Disney would utilize Evan Peters in the sinister light he has played in the past, it is still an odd casting choice.

Evan Peters has a gift for portraying disturbing, creepy, and unsettling characters, usually not the type of personas you expect to see in a Disney film. Although they have had their fair share of scary villains throughout the years, many are often lightened with a sense of humor like Hades in Hercules (1997) or given a few playful moments like Gaston or Mother Gothel. Many Disney villains even have their unique fan base – including some who wish Disney to build an entire theme Park dedicated to them.

Either way, little is known about the character Evan Peters will portray in the film. But regardless of whether he plays a hero or villain, Peters has proven himself a phenomenal actor, earning himself multiple awards, including a Golden Globe.
