As Florida Recovers From Hurricane Ian, Tropical Storm Nicole Prepares to Strike, Progressing Into Hurricane

Although Florida is still reeling from the effects of September’s Hurricane Ian, Tropical Storm Nicole is rapidly approaching, giving the state cause for concern.

Last week, the National Hurricane Center pointed out a ‘potential tropical storm‘ that could threaten Florida. Today, Walt Disney World announced an early closure across each Disney Park due to Tropical Storm Nicole.

What started as a ‘potential threat’ has quickly progressed into a subtropical storm, a tropical storm, and could even turn into a category one hurricane.

According to a report made by the Orlando Sentinel, the National Hurricane Center says that Tropical Storm Nicole is forecasted to progress into Hurricane Nicole and target Florida tonight.

Not only that, but tropical storm-force winds have already begun making landfall in the Sunshine State. Numerous hurricane warnings, tropical storm warnings, and evacuation orders have gone out in little time, causing a stir throughout the state.

Hurricane Ian’s rampage has left Florida vulnerable, making it even easier for the storm surges to breach the sea walls of the east coast. In South Florida, flooding has already begun from the first phase of rain.

Ahead of the eye of the storm’s landfall, power outages have already begun appearing. Orlando Sentinel writes, “By noon, close to 10,000 customers across the state were without power, mostly in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, Indian River, and Brevard counties.

Aside from any physical damages, Hurricane Ian financially slammed Walt Disney World.

We’re unsure of how Hurricane Nicole will treat Walt Disney World Resort, but we do know that Hurricane Ian financially slammed the Walt Disney Company. Unfortunately, all we can do now is wait to see what will happen.
