Today Disney Tips was able to interview Ashley Levine, who is with Disney Imagineering. She shared what we can expect with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. It’s going to welcome the very first otherworld Pavilion at EPCOTSimilar to what you might be used to in World Showcase, it will display Xandar culture and history. You’ll get to join the Guardians on an adventure through the Galaxy.

This is going to be one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world. They had to create new technology to tell the story they wanted to tell. She refers to it as an omni coaster. You might be familiar with omni attractions around Walt Disney World like the Haunted Mansion. This means it’s where they can rotate you up to 360 degrees while on that track. She said, rest assured, it’s not meant to make anyone sick or anything of that nature. It is going to be a thrilling family-friendly ride. A little bit more thrilling than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but not nearly as tumultuous as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. It’s just right there in the middle. She said they want everyone to have lots of fun, energy, and excitement and enjoy this epic adventure through time and space with the Guardians.

If you didn’t see our article earlier, Walt Disney World announced that this attraction will be opening in 2022. This will be such an incredible addition to EPCOT and has been in the works for quite some time. Although the COVID-19 pandemic closure had put a lot of plans on hold and even canceled some, we are glad that this is a good step to start getting back to some sort of normal. Many Imagineers who have been working on this ride say it will be worth the wait.
