The Jurassic Park franchise will soon be back in the spotlight with Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), the seventh film in the long-running series, arriving in theaters on July 2. Following the massive success of past installments, expectations are high for the newest chapter, which many believe could once again break the $1 billion mark at the global box office.

Meanwhile, Universal and Saber Interactive are developing “Jurassic Park: Survival,” a first-person action-adventure video game that puts players right in the middle of Isla Nublar just 24 hours after the events of the first film. Together, the movie and game are helping to drive one of the biggest resurgences of dinosaur-themed content since the franchise began in 1993.

But it turns out that Universal isn’t the only studio working on dinosaur-related content.

A handful of other dino-thriller projects are set to debut soon, including Primitive War (2025), a survival horror film based on the novel of the same name, and Flowervale Street (2026), an ‘80s-set mystery film from It Follows director David Robert Mitchell. While plot details for Flowervale Street are under wraps, rumors suggest dinosaurs may play a key role.

However, one project that was recently announced (by Deadline) is Jurassic: Reborn (2025). Directed by Marcel Walz and starring Daniel Baldwin, the indie action-horror shares more than just a title with the Jurassic franchise—it has a similar island-based genetic experiment gone awry. Still, despite its familiar setup, it’s unlikely to pose any threat to Rebirth, especially with a limited theatrical run and simultaneous on-demand release on June 24.

At a time when multiple dinosaur stories are competing for audience attention, the Jurassic brand is once again leading the charge. And if projections hold true, Jurassic World Rebirth may remind everyone exactly why it still holds that top spot as cinema’s apex predator.
