Disney might be about creating magic and happiness every day, but this holiday season the company worked with AdventHealth to bring some extra special magical memories to children’s hospitals with favorite characters.
All throughout the month of December 2022, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse had been spending time visiting patients and families at children’s hospitals, in a special tradition that has finally been able to return since the start of the pandemic.
The Disney Parks Blog spoke with Wadhawan, Senior Executive Officer of AdventHealth for Children who noted, “This is the first time we’ve welcomed our favorite Disney pals back to the hospital since 2019. Seeing them walk the halls again brought a renewed sense of optimism and hope to our patients and staff.”
Disney also took to TikTok to share a heartwarming video of some of the interactions between Mickey, Minnie, and patients and their families:

Along with these special visits, the Walt Disney Company gave back this holiday season with the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive. Working in support of the Marine Toys for Tots Program, the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive had another successful year supplying a total of 40,000 toys to children and families local to Walt Disney World in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties in Central Florida.
Disney’s work with Marine Toys for Tots is an ongoing tradition that the company, Disney VoluntEARs, and Cast Members have been working toward for 75 years, and it makes up just one of the many ways the organization gives back during the holidays.
