Disney Drops Huge Fantasmic! Update

We are all anxiously awaiting the return of our beloved Fantasmic! to Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. 

Well, time is inching closer to the grand re-opening of this classic show and Disney Parks has just dropped some extremely valuable information.

It’s been years since we’ve seen Fantasmic! in real life, but its inclusion of iconic characters, impressive pyro, and high flying action has been engrained in our memories. In case you missed it, Disney announced at the D23 conference back in November that Fantasmic! would return in 2022 with new plot points, new characters, action, and effects so we have been on the edge of our seat since then waiting for more details.

Of course, Disney won’t tell us everything that’s coming – we need to go and see it for ourselves in person! But they have dropped some more information that reminds us the return really isn’t that far away.

We already learned that Fantasmic! would return to Disneyland on May 28, 2022. But today the showtimes were officially announced for Fantasmic! at the Disneyland Resort in California.

Drum roll, please… Fantasmic! will premiere at 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. starting on May 28.

We’re also excited to hear that Disneyland has planned to slightly renovate the Fantasmic! viewing area to better accommodate the audience. Disneyland goers can all remember the utter chaos and congestion that has long lived in New Orleans Square, especially when folks were staking out their spots to sit and watch the show. Literally, people sitting down were being run over by strollers right, left, and center.

Pirates of the Caribbean has been down for a while during the reconstruction of the queuing area and for maintenance. We can only hope that this area is up and ready for the wave of visitors that will soon be flocking on May 28.

For now, we still don’t have any new concrete details about Fantasmic! restarting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World in Florida. But we think it won’t be too much longer now since Fantasmic! is just about underway at Disneyland California alongside the recent return of the Main Street Electrical Parade, Disneyland Forever, and World of Color.
