Walt Disney World Resort has revealed an adjustment is on the way for two of its parades, including Magic Kingdom Park’s popular Festival of Fantasy Parade and Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.

Flashback to 2020 when the COVID pandemic hit, and Disney Park parades, fireworks, stage shows, and character meet and greets were put on hold. While not all experiences have made their grand post-COVID return, such as Disney’s Hollywood Studios Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular or the beloved Fantasmic! nighttime entertainment, thankfully, in 2022, we’ve been able to experience several Disney fan favorites once again, including parades!

Magic Kingdom has welcomed the return of the ever-so-popular Festival of Fantasy Parade. Currently, the parade performs twice daily at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. The smaller but still adorable parade, Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade (a character cavalcade in celebration of the 50th Anniversary), is currently performed four times daily at 10:45 am, 1:40 pm, 4:25 pm, and 5:55 pm.
Beginning October 9, 2022, Disney has revealed an adjustment to its parades. It will be dropping one of its popular Festival of Fantasy Parade performances and adding an additional Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade instead.

As listed on the Walt Disney World website, beginning Sunday, October 9, 2022, the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will drop its 12:00 pm showing and remain at 3:00 pm only. Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade will add an additional showing at 11:55 am, giving the cavalcade a total of 5 performances per day.

Why the parade adjustment? Disney has not shared why they are dropping one of their Festival of Fantasy performances for Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade. That 3:00 pm showtime for Festival of Fantasy will be EXTRA packed now, so be sure to snag a good parade spot early.
Remember that the parades don’t only go down Main Street, U.S.A. They begin near Splash Mountain in Frontierland, make their way through Liberty Square, in front of Cinderella Castle, then down Main Street, U.S.A.
