Guests Can FINALLY Enter the World of ‘Encanto’ in Surprising Disney News

We don’t talk about…the fact that Encanto (2021) has no big Disney experience – yet!

The popular animated Disney movie Encanto has made records since its release, with its big song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” hitting high notes, its merchandise selling out, and its characters celebrated on social media.

We know a Disney Park attraction is coming but we’ve had no confirmation on what this will look like. The film’s songwriter, Hamilton genius Lin-Manuel Miranda, told Insider that “the Imagineers are on it. […] I know they’re on it.”

Now, we have some exciting news for those looking to join “The Family Madrigal,” but you might have to plan your next Disney vacation outside of the theme parks.

Disneyland has already added a Mirabel Madrigal meet-and-greet character, an Encanto float to the returning Main Street Electrical Parade, and a brand-new nightly projection show on the facade of “it’s a small world.”

Making their debut this year, topiaries of Mirabel, Antonio, Isabela, and Luisa from Disney Animation’s Academy Award-winning movie greet Walt Disney World Guests at the main entrance of EPCOT. But Disney Park Guests are still waiting for a ride or experience based on Encanto. 

Now, Disney has curated a one-of-a-kind adventure filled with new discoveries and experiences inspired by the film, and families can go “set-jetting” on their dream trip and see the movie come to life.

Between beach resorts on Hilton Head Island and Vero Beach, Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, and of course, Disney Cruise Line, there are so many ways to have a magical vacation outside of the theme parks.

Not many people are aware that beyond the Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks, however, the magic of Disney can be found across the world. There may not be Mickey Ears and Dole Whip, but there is that famous Disney service, superb Disney vacation exclusives, and the wonders of other countries!

Adventures by Disney has today, May 2, announced three new destinations for land adventures: Colombia, Morocco, and Nova Scotia!

New Destinations Offered through Adventures by Disney

Headlining the new destinations is Colombia, whose people and cultures sparked the imaginations of Disney storytellers when they created the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning film Encanto.

“At Adventures by Disney we take families to destinations they want to visit around the globe and make it easy to immerse themselves in new places, cultures, and experiences,” said Nancy Schumacher, senior vice president and general manager of Adventures by Disney. “We are excited to include Colombia in our 2024 lineup, as this country has been an inspiration for Disney stories that are loved the world over. I’m proud of our team for thoughtfully crafting an authentic travel experience that celebrates this incredible destination.”

Colombia

On this enchanted Adventures by Disney itinerary, Guests can hike through the Cocora Valley, make arepas, and tour historic Cartagena.

Each travel party booked on the inaugural 2024 Adventures by Disney Colombia season will also receive a signed lithograph of never-before-released artwork from Walt Disney Animation Studios! This piece of visual development artwork set the early concept for the new door to Casa Madrigal that would be revealed at the end of the film.

Pricing for this Disney Adventure starts at $4,999 per adult for an 8-day, 7-night vacation. The suggested age is 8 or older, but Guests 5 and older are permitted to join the adventure. 17 meals are included in the price.

Morocco

Another new Disney Adventure for 2024 is Morocco. This adventure through Morocco includes exploring souks, riding camels across the Sahara, and visiting cultural sites of importance, such as the Hassan II Mosque and the Roman ruins of Volubilis.

Rich in history and tradition, Morocco is a true melting pot—which is immediately evident in its food, arts, culture and the people that call it home. With an emphasis on hospitality and storytelling, visitors are invited to explore its souks (markets), stunning landscapes and vibrant cultures, all of which show off the many influences that have shaped Morocco and made it such a welcoming destination.

Pricing for this adventure starts at $7,699 per adult for a 10-day, 9-night vacation. The suggested age is 8 or older, but Guests 5 and older are permitted to join the adventure. 25 meals are included in the price.

Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island

This Disney trip is all about nature, where Guests will explore vast outdoor spaces and the history of this coastal province as they learn about Mi’kmaq culture and cruise along Shediac Bay. Disney writes:

Experience the natural beauty of the Canadian Maritime Provinces, a stunning coastal stretch sculpted by the marine environments—rivers, bays and dramatic tides—that surround it. Made up of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, this summer haven is teeming with both wildlife and people who call the region home, which includes the Mi’kmaq, Maliseet and Passamaquoddy Nations, among others who arrived at the coastal ports seeking new opportunities in the North American shipyards and robust fishing industries.

Pricing for this adventure starts at $5,399 per adult for an 8-day, 7-night vacation. The suggested age is 6 or older, but Guests 5 and older are permitted to join the adventure. 16 meals are included in the price.

How to Book

Booking opens to the general public on May 12, but Guests who have traveled on an Adventures by Disney excursion in the past may book earlier than general Guests!

Having completed three previous adventures allows Guests to begin booking as early as May 9, 2023. If a Guest has completed at least one adventure in the past, they may book on May 10.

Following this, all Guests who are Disney Vacation Club Members, Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club Members, or Golden Oak Members may book on May 11.

New for 2024, Adventures by Disney has previously revealed a new Adriatic Expedition Cruise through Croatia along the Adriatic Sea. Adventures by Disney also recently announced a new magical itinerary dubbed “Adventures by Disney Private Jet,” with its first trip departing to every Disney Park around the world in July of 2023.
