A breathtaking Disney restaurant on the Western shores of Oahu is set to reopen this fall. Located at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i., the upscale dining spot boasts heavenly ocean views!
The open-air setting gives Guests a truly tropical experience with visions of the ocean all around. ʻAMA ʻAMA is a signature restaurant at Aulani, located on the outskirts of the Resort.
The restaurant has been closed for quite some time now, leaving Guests wondering if it would ever return. But, we’ve got great news! Disney Parks Blog finally announced that the stunning location would reopen this fall!
Fall is actually a fantastic time to visit Hawai‘i! Perfect tropical weather and fewer crowds make the island of Oahu even more enjoyable during this season of the year!
ʻAMA ʻAMA, named after the ‘ama‘ama fish, will return with a reimagined look and only feature dinner service. Previously the restaurant provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner and included a fairly casual dress code.
The dining location will also feature a new menu with locally-inspired dishes, cocktails, wine, and dessert. Jeanette Lomboy, a Disney Imagineer, led the transformation of ʻAMA ʻAMA restaurant.
Disney shows their attention to detail with touches like traditional Hawaiian fish baskets and sea creature elements added to the new light fixtures adorning the location. The restaurant’s inspiration, the ‘ama‘ama fish, is known as the most necessary and plentiful fish in Hawai‘i.
Disney states, “We are excited to welcome you and your ʻohana back to ʻAMA ʻAMA to celebrate and enhance your vacation dining experience.” The restaurant is located right on the beach, with a few steps leading up to its entrance.
If you haven’t experienced Aulani, it’s definitely a must-do if you love the combination of Disney and the tropics. And who doesn’t love that?!
