Disneyland Resort’s Oogie Boogie Bash took an unexpected turn this week.
Oogie Boogie Bash is Disneyland Resort’s flagship Halloween after-hours event, transforming Disney California Adventure with trick-or-treat trails, rare character appearances, themed entertainment, and costumes throughout the park.

Tickets are sold separately from regular admission, and demand is typically high (although this year’s event seems to have experienced slower sales than usual). The event has become a major part of Disneyland’s Halloween calendar, drawing crowds to California Adventure on select nights throughout the season.
On Thursday, August 27, however, guests found themselves watching a very different scene as police officers, Disney security cast members, and managers gathered around a woman who was being removed from the park.
Guests Describe Major Security Presence at Oogie Boogie Bash
Accounts of the incident began circulating on Reddit and TikTok after guests reported seeing the woman escorted through Disney California Adventure.
Exactly what prompted Disney security to intervene has not been confirmed.

One witness claimed the woman appeared intoxicated and was crying as she was moved through a busy section of the park.
“This was my first time yesterday going to the Oogie Boogie Bash and through the main thoroughfare near the DVC booth was a woman being escorted, crying through the street,” the guest wrote on Reddit.
“She was accompanied/pushed through by 3 non-Disney police officers and further escorted by approximately 10 Disney Security members and what looked like 2 Disney Managers.”
That unusually large response quickly drew attention from other guests nearby.
The same witness claimed the woman resisted attempts to move her toward the exit.

She allegedly “attempted to turn around to go back into the park or slip down a side street as she was escorted and had to be more roughly escorted by police officers.”
The scene was described as being “very reminiscent of the Game of Thrones shame scene as she was marched down the street.”
Video footage later posted to TikTok showed the woman being escorted through a backstage access point near Hollywood Land.
The footage does not show what happened before police became involved.
Another account claimed the woman had apparently been near Paradise Garden Park beforehand and was “sobbing hysterically.”
The Reddit witness said she “repeatedly tried to turn around as if to make something right or apologize” before allegedly attempting to move toward Avengers Campus.

A TikTok commenter who appeared to have witnessed part of the incident provided another version of events.
“She was in the restrooms for 25 minutes by the winery. Security was out there waiting for her. She ran out, and took off. Since security can’t touch her, PD came by.”
Disneyland Resort has not publicly explained what happened or confirmed whether the woman faced any further action after being escorted backstage.
The footage also appears to have been filmed during daylight, suggesting the confrontation occurred before Oogie Boogie Bash fully got underway or during the event’s early hours.
Disney California Adventure Has Long Had a Boozier Reputation
Alcohol is much easier to find at Disney California Adventure than it historically was across the esplanade at Disneyland Park.
Guests can purchase beer, wine, cocktails, and other alcoholic drinks from restaurants, bars, quick-service locations, and seasonal festival booths throughout DCA.
That availability has helped give California Adventure a reputation among some Disney fans as the resort’s more alcohol-heavy park.
The reputation becomes particularly noticeable during events such as the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, when guests frequently post online about drinking around the park.
Still, incidents involving allegedly intoxicated guests are not unique to Disneyland Resort.
Earlier this year, footage circulated from Walt Disney World showing an allegedly intoxicated man behaving aggressively at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The man was filmed body-slamming and kicking a hotel room door before attempting to hit it with a suitcase. Law enforcement later responded, although it was not clear whether he was ultimately arrested.
Another incident involved The Polite Pig at Disney Springs.

A man was reportedly arrested in December after allegedly refusing to leave the restaurant after being cut off from bar service.
Disney security routinely deals with disruptive behavior across its resorts, but Thursday’s scene stood out because of the sheer number of people apparently involved in the response.
