Well, it seems that those visiting the Park in April will have to get their skates on to get everything done, as the Park is mysteriously closing early one day.
Operating hours for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are usually released around 60 days out.
As of February 1, the schedule of Park operating hours has been released through April 12, 2022, with one day looking strikingly different than the rest.
On April 6, 2022, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is showing an early closure. The Park opens at 9:00 a.m. but looks set to close at 5:00 p.m, with the hours on the My Disney Experience app and the Walt Disney World calendar both showing the same times.
Typically, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m and as of now, it is unknown why the Park will close four hours early on this day.
Those wishing to get dinner reservations at restaurants like 50’s Prime Time Cafe and The Hollywood Brown Derby will have to either choose lunch times, or find other dining locations at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs.
Park Hopping is available from 2 p.m., so those with Hopper tickets can go to another one of Walt Disney World’s theme parks for the evening. Those Guests with one-day tickets should probably choose a different Park on April 6.
We predict that the early closure is for a private event, just as Magic Kingdom closed early in January for a Cast Member event. This Cast Member event at Magic Kingdom was canceled due to cold and rainy weather, with another Cast Celebration planned for February.
The Cast Service Celebration was to honor Cast Members and their service milestones. previously scheduled to take place on January 25. Magic Kingdom will be closing early again at 4:30 p.m. on February 8, 2022. The event normally happens annually at Magic Kingdom but the COVID-19 pandemic meant the event had to be postponed.
Please note that hours are always subject to change, and you can check your My Disney Experience account for the most updated schedules.
So, if you want to try the Oga’s Cantina after-hours trick, or ride the Tower of Terror in the dark, you will need to find another evening to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios in April.
