This year’s D23 Expo takes place September 9-11, 2022, at the Anaheim Convention Center, and the event is sure to be backed with all kinds of panels, presentations, and unique experiences for Disney fans.

As we get closer to the event kicking off, Disney has been releasing additional details for what fans can expect to see at the event, with panels focused on TV and movies, including Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar, as well as Star Wars and Marvel, along with special announcements for Disney Parks around the world.

In the company’s latest update, we learned about some of the new presentations that will make up the Disney Parks panels, and we are excited to share all of the details!

On Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., D23 will host ‘A Boundless Future: Disney Parks Experiences and Products,’ with a presentation led by Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro. During this exclusive event, D’Amaro will share new details on various projects taking place in Disney Parks around the world with some “special surprises” in store, according to D23’s official website.

This D23 presentation typically reveals new looks at projects that are already underway at Disney Parks, meaning this year’s event could include new details on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (the attraction set to replace Splash Mountain at Disneyland and Walt Disney World), EPCOT’s renovations, the Disney Wish, and more, as well as entirely new projects that have yet to be publicly announced.

As some aspects of Disney Parks have still yet to return following the COVID-19 closures, we are expecting an update on the remaining restaurants, attractions, and amenities, but cannot be sure which ones will be touched on until the event takes place this September.

Duffy the Disney Bear

Later that day, at 4:15 p.m., D23 will host “The World of Duffy and Friends Revealed.” The official description for this panel is as follows:

Disney Imagineers discuss the origin and continuing popularity of Duffy & Friends, including the newest friend who has become a global phenomenon—LinaBell!

Duffy the Disney Bear has his own backstory as a teddy bear given to Mickey by Minnie to keep him company during his travels. This story has expanded into a full universe with Duffy having lots of friends of his own who, while popular at overseas parks like Shanghai Disney Resort and Tokyo DisneySea, have yet to be seen stateside.

In the past, Duffy had character meet and greet locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, but they have been gone for a number of years. It is possible that a return to the U.S. will be announced during this presentation, but we cannot confirm until the event takes place so we will be sure to keep you updated.
