And if you plan to visit the Parks and stay on property, many of the award-winning Resorts have their own Christmas-time surprises in store!
One location in particular shared images today of their favorite holiday tradition: constructing a tasty treat modeled after the Resort itself!

In addition to the gifts at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney bestows another present upon us every year, just in time for the holiday season: a series of lovingly crafted, Disney-inspired gingerbread houses!
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa offers Guests picturesque views in a Craftsman-inspired setting perfect to provide a sense of the state’s rustic outdoors while retaining an aura of luxurious relaxation. The Disneyland website describes the Grand Californian:

The Resort, like its counterpart the Grand Floridian on the East Coast, designs a new edible array of gingerbread joy in celebration of the holidays. Though the basic structure always pays homage to the Resort building itself, sweet and unique details are added each year!

We can see an adorable Mickey Mouse snowman and delectable depictions of Chip and Dale in darling winter wear! The chipmunk duo trims a tree in front of a roaring fire inside a rendition of the Grand Californian’s awe-inspiring fireplace.
As Disney shares, their magical chefs and bakers craft the seven-foot-tall replica structure from “600 pounds of gingerbread, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, and 250 pounds of fondant!” It also contains 25 hidden Mickeys you can try to spot when you visit the Resort.
