The hotel will offer 575 standard rooms and 20 superior rooms, all inspired by Andy’s room in Toy Story (1995). The bedroom designs feature Andy’s iconic blue-sky-and-and-white-cloud wallpaper, and an oversized Mickey Mouse wristwatch hanging on one of the walls, among other toy-like fixtures and furnishings. Guests will literally be stepping into the world of Buzz, Woody, Bo-Peep, Jessie, Bullseye, and Mr Potato Head!
The lobby of this brand new Disney Resort Hotel looks set to be a bright, toy-filled space with a jigsaw puzzle-inspired floor, crayon walls, and a ceiling designed to look like a board game. It definitely reminds us of the Toy Story Midway Mania queue area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park.
And even an infamous character from Toy Story 3 (2010) will be featured at the new Tokyo Disneyland hotel. The pink, smelly teddy bear, Lotso, has inspired the new Lotso Garden Cafe that will offer buffet service at breakfast and dinner. Only Guests who are staying the night at the hotel will have access to this dining location.
We also catch a glimpse of the new Toy Friends Square in the video, which will feature statues of Woody, Bo-Peep, and other Toy Story characters, as well as Slinky Dog Park, the plaza in front of the entrance features a board game themed to Slinky, with statues of Buzz Lightyear and Jessie.
The hotel is located next to the Bayside Station on the Tokyo Disney Resort Line Monorail, which provides access to the Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks. Toy Story Hotel hotel Guests will not receive a free ticket on the Monorail.
The Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel will be the fourth onsite Disney hotel at the Tokyo Disney Resort and its fifth overall. It is also the Resort’s first moderate-priced hotel, joining the value-priced, offsite Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel and the onsite, deluxe-priced Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Disney Ambassador Hotel, and Hotel MiraCosta.
This will be Disney’s second Toy Story-themed hotel, joining the one at Shanghai Disney. The Toy Story Hotel, with 800 rooms, features the Sunnyside Cafe, which is decorated with Chinese-style kites flown by Disney characters.
Walt Disney World is also seeing a Toy Story update, with a new table service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, serving Guests barbecue dinners in Toy Story Land surrounded by “a kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets that Andy has brought together to create his one-of-a-kind-rodeo.”
Toy Story has remained a beloved Pixar franchise, with Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen) charming generations since its release back in 1995. We’ve seen three sequels and countless new characters, with theme park attractions like Sligny Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and now this new Toy Story Hotel signalling the continued love for Pixar’s toys.
