Permanent Closure Confirmed for This Disney World Shopping Experience

It may fall behind attractions and dining, but shopping is often a priority for Guests visiting Walt Disney World, especially for collectors of certain Park-specific merchandise like ear hats and headbands, pins, and more.

Still, some of the most popular shops at the Walt Disney World Resort, are not Disney stores at all in the case of locations like Basin at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney Springs, or the recently closed Sosa Family Cigars, also formerly located in Disney Springs.

Disney Springs, the Resort’s own shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, also offers several non-Disney stores that have become fan-favorites over the years for unique Disney-licensed merchandise like Uniqlo and COACH, to name a few. And, all of these locations are in addition to a number of fashion staples like Lilly Pulitzer, JOHNNY WAS, Sperry, and UGG.

Unfortunately for fans of the latter, the UGG location in Disney Springs is set to close permanently very soon. Inside the Magic reports that this location will close on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. As of this writing, it is not clear why the Disney Springs UGG location is closing, nor is it confirmed what will be replacing the store.

The store opened in Disney Springs in 2016, just one year after the major redesign that transformed the area from the former Downtown Disney. UGG did stock several Disney-inspired designs that may be more challenging to track down outside of the Disney Springs location, so fans may find themselves looking to online shopping if they are looking for something specific in the future.

On the other side of Disney Springs, the Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane inside Marketplace Co-Op closed last year, and we do not yet know what type of business will be moving into the former Sosa Family Cigars space as well.

Despite the recent changes, Disney Springs remains one of the best ways to spend time at Walt Disney World without using a Park ticket. If you were hoping to pick up some Disney-inspired UGGs, you’ll want to head to Disney Springs within the coming week.

Otherwise, we always recommend stopping by for a bite from some of Disney’s best restaurants, picking up a DOLE Whip at Swirls on the Water, or taking the boats to Disney’s Port Orleans, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs Resorts.
