Clothing

Of course, this is the most basic thing to pack. It would be quite surprising if someone forgot to pack their clothes but it’s good to have options, especially considering the fickle Florida weather you’ll need to be prepared for rain or shine. It’s also important to remember that Disney parks DO actually have a dress code, so you should keep in mind that you shouldn’t bring anything too revealing or inappropriate, as they might have an issue! Why not pack some stylish Disney clothes?

  • Shirts – Preferably micro-fiber which is comfortable and water/ sweat resistant, will come in handy!
  • Bottoms- It’s good to have multiple long pants options and a shorts option, depending on the time of year you go.
  • Sweatshirt or jacket – You’ll always want to have something that’s a bit heavier to wear in the evening or especially if it’s a wet rainy day in the winter or spring.
  • A light rain jacket – If you don’t have one already, it’s a good idea to invest in a lightweight rain jacket than can roll in and be compact in your bag or backpack, that way you can carry it with you just in case of rain.
  • Undergarments Plenty of socks – You will be thankful to have an extra pair of socks even in your day-bag you bring to the Park. There’s nothing worse than wet socks walking around Disney all day.
  • Multiple pairs of walking shoes and a pair of flip flops or sandals

Toiletries and Medications

This will depend largely on what you require. Of course, you will need to pack the typical, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, face wipes, make-up, etc. but you will also want to prepare for your trip to Disney World with any medications you may need. A few over the counter medications that might be useful would be:

  • Ibuprofen or Advil – to help with any aches and pains associated with multiple days of walking tens of thousands of steps.
  • Antacid or Tums – There can be some seriously rich foods at Walt Disney World. If your body isn’t used to heavy and greasy foods then this might come in handy. It’s also useful for helping with light nausea from motion sickness
  • Dramamine or Motion sickness bands- These will help those that suffer from motion sickness from rides and rollercoasters.
  • Bandaids- Ok not a medication but you definitely may need these, especially for potential blisters on your feet
  • Allergy medication

Miscellaneous items for your day bag

The previous may be more or less common sense but here’s where this list comes in handy. Pack these extra yet important items when packing for a Disney World trip.

  • A day backpack or large handbag – crucial for carrying around your supplies for the day
  • Water bottle – you’ll surely get thirsty and buy drinks in the park but keeping a water bottle in your bag is handy especially when you’re waiting in long lines outside in the sun
  • Sunscreen – also very important since you will be outside all day. The sun in Florida can be quite intense so make sure to stay well protected. Especially on day one, so you aren’t sunburned for the remainder of your trip
  • Face masks – a necessary essential these days
  • Hand sanitizer and wet wipes
  • Extra socks for your day bag
  • A pair of light flip-flops. It’s good to switch out your shoes at least for a few hours in the day. Your feet will thank you for this hack!
  • Magicband
  • Smartwatch – to track your steps and for checking the time
  • Sunglasses
  • Battery pack and cable for charging your phone – This is so necessary, especially these days and needing to depend on apps like the My Disney Experience App.
  • Ziploc bags – why? Read about it here
  • Any necessary medications you might need

This is a pretty basic list of what to bring to Disney World and some of the essentials of course. What is absolutely necessary will differ from person to person but at least you’ll have the basics covered here.

Oh and don’t forget your Mickey ears.
