Disneyland’s 70th anniversary interactive key, a highly sought-after collectible that allows guests to unlock special experiences throughout the park, is currently facing a temporary issue. While the key remains a favorite among Disney fans, guests eager to experience the full effects of the Adventureland portion of the key will have to wait a little longer.

Adventureland Lock Temporarily Out of Service

The main issue affecting the interactive key involves the Adventureland lock, which is currently out of service. Disneyland has confirmed that this lock, which usually triggers a series of lights and special effects within the land, is not functioning as intended. As a result, guests hoping to unlock the full Adventureland experience will be disappointed for now.

However, Disneyland is offering a workaround for guests who want to activate the Adventureland light on their key. Though the Adventureland lock is not functioning as expected, Cast Members have a workaround for guests who wish to activate the Adventureland light on the key. Guests can still visit the Adventureland Bazaar and use the key at the register, where Cast Members can manually trigger the light feature. However, this alternative activation does not trigger the full effects of the lock, which normally include additional light and sound effects in the area.

Why the Temporary Disruption?

Disneyland has not disclosed the exact cause of the malfunction, but reassured visitors that it is a temporary issue. It’s unclear how long the malfunction will last, though Disney has stated that they are actively working to resolve it. The park is committed to restoring the full experience as soon as possible, with the interactive keys remaining a major part of Disneyland’s ongoing 70th anniversary celebrations.

Though the disruption has led to some disappointment among visitors, the workaround at the Adventureland Bazaar allows guests to still activate a partial version of the key’s lighting feature.

The Future of the Interactive Key

Despite the temporary issue, the interactive key continues to be one of the park’s most popular attractions. As Disneyland continues its 70th anniversary celebrations, the interactive key remains one of the most popular items for park-goers, with many guests eager to unlock new surprises. Disney has hinted that there may be more surprises and special effects coming to the keys as the year progresses.

For now, visitors will need to make do with the current workaround, but Disney’s ongoing efforts to resolve the issue show their dedication to providing the full magical experience the keys were designed to offer.
