If you’ve been at Walt Disney World the last few days, then you’ve probably seen the pops of purple making their way around the Parks.

This weekend, EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts began celebrating the wonders of art, performance, and food with some incredible displays, shows, and stalls selling artists’ work.

Of course, the longest line the past few days has not been for a ride, to meet an artist, or even for the Disney on Broadway Concert Series at the America Gardens Theatre.

No, the longest line was for a popcorn bucket.

Any Guest who visited EPCOT this weekend couldn’t help but notice a massive line that formed for the Pop! Eats stand near Port of Entry as Guests waited as long as seven hours to get the all-new Figment Popcorn Bucket and his rainbow popcorn.

For fans of Figment, the little purple dragon from the attraction Journey Into Imagination With Figment, starring Eric Idle, the popcorn bucket was a must-have.

Figment’s character is featured prominently throughout the festival at EPCOT, and the popcorn bucket allows Guests to refill it with more popcorn for just $2.25, which is about the best snack value at Walt Disney World.

Disney Tips was at EPCOT this weekend and witnessed the crazy line for ourselves. On the opening day of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, the line for the Figment Popcorn Bucket started quickly. By noon, it was estimated that the wait was at least FIVE HOURS long.

By comparison, the wait time for the new ride RemyRatatouille Adventure was 80 minutes.

Well, now we can confirm that the popular Figment Popcorn Buckets are now SOLD OUT at Pop Eats! Food Studio

Disney strictly enforced s a limit of two Figment Popcorn Buckets per person, but it seems some families were getting two buckets each and ending up often with eight or ten buckets per group.

Twitter user @MagicalNewsLIVE shared a photo of a sign that has been placed in front of the stands on Monday, January 17 that reads “Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket Currently Unavailable.”:

The Figment Popcorn Bucket at #ArtfulEPCOT is sold out.

We spoke with a Cast Member who informed us that once these Figment popcorn buckets sold out, Disney would not be getting any more shipments. So it seems that those looking to still purchase one of these infamous buckets are out of luck, as this was a limited piece of merchandise.

The Cast Member also mentioned that over the first couple of days of selling the Figment popcorn bucket, Disney sold close to 500,000 Figments. Yes, half a million Figment Popcorn buckets sold in the first weekend alone.

She estimated that based on the profit Disney makes per item – after manufacturing, shipping, and other costs are factored in – Walt Disney World would make around a million dollars profit alone just from the Figment bucket. Which is wild!

Shortly after the popcorn buckets began to sell, however, re-seller listings on eBay began. Some of the re-sellers were selling the limited edition bucket for over $800! The bucket itself costs only $25 at the Park.

Many Disney Guests have vented anger on social media at the current trend of re-sellers cashing in on the popularity of certain Disney merchandise. Some commented on how unfair it is for these re-sellers to collect multiple buckets to re-sell and leaving those just wanting one bucket empty-handed.
