Walt Disney World Discount

Unfortunately, a Walt Disney World vacation can be an expensive trip. This is especially true if you travel with a large family (or group of friends), stay on Disney property, or visit during peak seasons, such as the middle of summer.

As such, Walt Disney World Resort has a new discount offer. The upcoming promotion will launch on November 14 of this year and is targeted at families planning a spring trip. The limited-time package includes discounts of up to 50% off.

When theme park guests purchase a full-price 4-night, 4-day Walt Disney Travel Company package, they will receive 50% off children’s tickets (for kids aged 3-9) and 50% off the kids’ Disney Dining Plans. This offer also requires visiting families to stay at selected Disney resorts, purchase adult theme park admissions, and opt for the Disney Dining Plan.

Why The Offer?

Some have speculated that the deal signifies that Walt Disney World Resort is desperate to increase its theme park numbers and attract more guests. With another earnings call around the corner and no significant plans coming to Disney Parks or out of Disney Studios in 2024, the company may be feeling some pressure.

After a year of lukewarm box office numbers and a falling stock price, The Walt Disney Company must do something bold.

The “Kids Play & Dine at Half Price” promotion will be valid for stays on most nights between March 3 and June 30 of next year (2024). More details on the half price child park ticket will be released as the date gets closer.

However, it may be safe to assume these tickets do not include Disney Genie Plus. It may also be safe to think they can be used at any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks (Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom).

It will be interesting to see if the Walt Disney Company makes additional announcements or offers further discounts for 2024 travel.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
