It’s a beautiful day in the Disney Parks and you’re enjoying “the wildest ride in the wilderness”… that is until a guy jumps off the attraction to retrieve his phone.
Viral videos and photos of Guests in the Disney Parks are nothing new! We’ve seen interesting Disney moments such as Guests attempting to sneak into Disneyland, Cast Members trying to keep Hall of Presidents from getting political, and Guests needing the help of the local fire department to evacuate Peter Pan’s Flight.
Recently, a video went viral of a boy getting out of a Splash Mountain boat. In a similar situation, a person jumped out of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Except, this wasn’t a child… this was a grown man.
The incident took place in the Frontierland portion of Disneyland Park. The popular Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction rides Disney Park Guests through a haunted gold mine on a speeding train. The coaster is a fan-favorite ride and usually boasts long waits.
Imagine waiting for your chance to ride, only to be stopped abruptly because of one Guest’s not-so-wise decision making. In the video, you’ll see a Guest walk down the side of one of the ride’s hills to get his phone which is scattered anyway. The incident resulted in a pretty impressive look at the behind-the-scenes portions of the attraction which was captured in this video.
The viral video, with over 1.1 million views, is making its way around social media. @just_disney took to TikTok to share “Guy #jumps off Big Thunder Mountain to grab his #phone. #DisneyTikTok #Disneyland #BigThunderMountain #DisneyRides”. Check out the video below or find it here:
Never… we repeat… never jump off a Disney attraction for any reason. The attractions are meant to keep Guests in their seats for a reason. We will say when riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the single lap bar would be an easy one to slide out of if trying, but for obvious reasons, it isn’t a smart idea.
