Seven Haitian Special Olympics Delegates Reported Missing from Walt Disney World

The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games concluded earlier this week in Orlando with multiple events taking place on Walt Disney World property. The Games took place June 5-11, 2022, with events held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

Along with official events held at Walt Disney World, many athletes, volunteers, coaches, and Guests in attendance either stayed at or spent their free time exploring Disney Parks and Resorts. Last week, members of the Haitian delegation for the Special Olympics were reported missing with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department sharing that a seventh delegate is now missing as of yesterday, June 13, 2022.

All seven of the missing delegates were set to depart to return home at various times throughout the week. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is where the most recent missing delegate was seen, and Cast Members reported that they each turned in their room keys but left personal belongings behind at the resort.

Last week Peter Mianovich Berlus (19), Atione Joseph Mithon (age 32), Nicholson Fontilus (20), Steevenson Jacquet (24)  Anderson Petit-Frere (18), and Oriol Jean (18) were all reported missing from the team’s soccer venue at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

The seventh missing delegate, 25-year-old Louis Jacques Wilguens, 25, is said to be last seen at the resort on Saturday, June 11 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Osceola County officials noted that he was wearing red sandals, blue jeans, and a white T-shirt from the Special Olympics USA Games with “Haiti” printed on the front.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department is hoping for the community’s assistance on any leads with the contact information listed in the image above. Authorities do not suspect foul play, however, they advise anyone who makes contact with the missing delegates to check on their wellbeing and to contact the department immediately at (407) 438-2222 or by dialing 9-1-1 for emergencies.
