Holiday Fun Coming to Disney World This Year

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto in Christmas costumes gather by a twinkling tree aboard Disney Cruise Line.

The Walt Disney World Resort recently released all the magical holiday celebrations coming to the theme Park, Disney Resort and Disney Springs this November and December. We have a quick breakdown of what holiday fun you can find if heading down to the magic this winter.

Disney Resorts

Once again, the gingerbread displays will be back at the different Disney Resorts. Make sure you stop by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa as the fantastic Gingerbread House will be back once again. This magnificent display is a Disney icon, and truly a must see when visiting during the holiday season. We have yet to hear what other Resorts will be in on the holiday magic, but we will keep you posted. No matter what, we know Disney will have the Resorts decorated for the season.

Disney Springs

Returning to Disney Springs will be the Christmas Tree Trail. This trail brings our favorite movies and characters into the holiday celebration by creating trees featuring them. This is a fun experience to do around Disney Springs as you shop for the holiday season and enjoy delicious food. Watch for snowfall, though you might run into it as you explore Town Center in Disney Springs. If you want a fun and festive dining experience, we are thrilled that Jock Lindsey’s has confirmed that Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar will be coming back in 2021. This will feature fun, holiday themed treats as well as amazing decorations for the holiday season. Get a reservation quickly, though as it is a super popular destination. We look forward to seeing more dining locations and entertainment get involved in the celebration.

Animal Kingdom

A few years ago, Disney added some additional holiday magic to Disney’s Animal Kingdom when introducing the Merry Menagerie. These adorable puppets are absolutely stunning and so cute to see out and around the Discovery Trail. Guests can find reindeer, fox, polar bear, a penguin, and their handlers greeting Guests in the Park. We will also once again be able to see a variety of festive flotillas, including Santa. Also, around Discovery Trails, you will want to catch the Tree of Life as it will have a new holiday-themed Tree of Life Awakenings. Don’t skip out on these magical holiday experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Hollywood Studios

Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Sunset Seasons Greetings will once again be shining bright on the Tower of Terror. Catch this on Sunset Boulevard each night as it alternates with Beacons of Magic. Santa will also be getting his very own motorcade as he travels down Hollywood Boulevard greeting Guests. Don’t miss out on For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing Along as it will have an all new holiday ending featuring the beloved Olaf. Take time in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to enjoy the amazing decorations that are a throwback and super fun to see.

EPCOT

EPCOT has a ton of magic coming to help celebrate the holiday season. The International Festival of the Holidays will be returning to the World Showcase from November 26th to December 30th, bringing food and drink from around the world. This is a fantastic time to enjoy holiday goodies from all over the world. Many EPCOT fans were thrilled to hear that Candlelight Processional will be returning on November 26th. This moving show features an outstanding choir and beloved narrators that work together to bring the Christmas story to life like never before. We highly recommend catching this show as it is an experience like no other. Also returning this year will be the Festival of the Holidays Storytellers. Throughout the World Showcase, Guests will learn about the holiday traditions from storytellers from different countries. This is an outstanding way that Disney brings in cultures from different countries into the World Showcase for Guests to enjoy. Finally, don’t miss out on the fantastic Voices of Liberty performing at the American Gardens Theater. These beautiful voices join together to share amazing holiday cheer.

Magic Kingdom

Coming to Magic Kingdom will be the Very Merriest After Hours event. This special ticketed event will allow Guests to experience a variety of unique, event only magic. We will see Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks premiere each night of the party for a magical event that brings the night sky alive. Guests of the party will also be able to enjoy the new Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade featuring our favorite characters in their holiday gear  hopefully including Jack Claus from the beloved Nightmare Before Christmas. A brand new stage show has been announced called Mickey and Minnie’s Very Merry Memories which we are so very excited to see. The party festivities will continue over into Tomorrowland, where Guests can enjoy Club Tinsel, a dance party filled with fun, and make sure to stop by the Reindeer Wranglers who will be dancing away in Frontierland. Throughout the evening, Guests will also enjoy special holiday projections on the castle as it alternates with the 50th Anniversary Beacons of Magic. Also, we know that characters will be appearing throughout the Park and even though we don’t know specifics- we are thrilled! Magic Kingdom and the Very Merriest After Hours event is sure to be a magical time for all that attend.

We can’t wait to see all the holiday magic that will be coming to the four Disney theme parks, the Disney Resorts, and Disney Springs. We know that all those with a Disney vacation scheduled during this holiday season will have a magical time.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
