Disney Reveals Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue Character Lineup

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is making its grand return this summer! While Disney has noted some changes coming to the show, we’re thrilled to see the character lineup in the works.

After we learned the heartbreaking news that Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is closed permanently to make way for a new Polynesian Village Resort tower, Disney fans took to social media to beg Disney to keep Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness.

With the big news that Hoop-Dee-Doo WILL be making a comeback in a few months, we can’t help but be all eyes on the show’s progress.

Despite Disney noting “Hoop-Dee-Doo will return with a few updates to its script and scenery”, it looks like they are keeping true to bringing back “the treasured experience the whole family can enjoy”.

The Pioneer Hall Players and Cast Members of Hoop-Dee-Doo are making a return with what seems like the same hilarious and exciting personalities as the show shared before.

We previously reported the character lineup for the new Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Now, Disney auditions are also open for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, providing a look at the characters and their personalities.

Disney Auditions notes, “Disney Live Entertainment is accepting submissions from Musical Theatre Performers and Vocalists of all ethnicities and gender identities to portray principal and ensemble roles for Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, Finding Nemo:  The Big Blue…and Beyond! and for Special Events and Conventions, for the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.”

The Hoop-Dee-Doo characters currently open for auditions is listed as follows:

• Claire DeLune: Johnny’s girl; she’s adorable, lovable and flirtatious, full of life and best known for her outrageous “giggle.” Singer who dances. 
• Dolly Drew: Strong woman and “Annie Oakley” type. Vaudevillian style Comedian. Her mannerisms and style are less than demure. Character actor/comedienne.
• Flora Long: Beautiful leading lady; sweet and petite; vocal soloist-soprano.
• Jim Handy: Leader of the troupe; a leading man type; handsome, outgoing, friendly, vocal soloist-heroic bass/baritone. 
• Johnny Ringo: Handsome, dapper; the song and dance man; a true gentleman. Classic air of sophistication. Singer who dances. 
• Six Bits: A “punster”, Vaudevillian style Comedian; his brand of humor is often slapstick. Character actor/comedian.
