They will even help you with dining reservations and other special event bookings, too.

7. Don’t forget about the water parks

There are two different water parks on property, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach.  Both of these are great options for a last minute trip since the restaurants there don’t take reservations and there aren’t FastPass+ selections.  You have the same advantages as any other guest who shows up that day.  Plus, they are also just a ton of fun!

6. Make FastPass+ selections as soon as you can

Once you have your dates selected you will want to link your park tickets within My Disney Experience so that you can make FastPass+ selections.  We recommend buying your tickets in advance and doing this so that you can save time while there and get a better selection of FastPass+ times and options.

5. Enjoy counter service meal options via Mobile Order

Even if you have trouble getting your desired table service locations, there are still a ton of great quick service options at the counter service locations.  You also don’t have to waste time waiting in line to order since Disney has rolled out the Mobile Order service within the My Disney Experience app.  You are able to order and pay from the app and then just pick up your food at the pickup window when it is ready.  It is so convenient!

4. You can still order customized MagicBands

Even if you book a Disney vacation a couple weeks out, you can still get customized MagicBands.  Just link your reservation as soon as you have it in My Disney Experience and get the order complete.  Typically as long as you are within around 11 days ahead of your trip you can still customize and have time for them to be shipped to you at home.

3. Check out discount sites for airfare

If you are booking last minute flights, you may want to look outside of your typical airline.  Sometimes last minute flights can be very experience so use some of the discount sites or sites that do price comparisons so that you can get the best deal. Just don’t forget to consider any additional luggage fees that may be applied, depending on the airline.

2. Don’t stop trying for reservations

If you have your heart set on a certain dining reservation or FastPass+ selection, definitely don’t give up.  You may be able to find exactly what you are looking for even on the day of.  So keep checking back periodically and you may luck out as another guests releases their reservation.

1. Don’t over plan and be flexible

Since you are already booking a last minute trip, then you probably already like to be a little more spontaneous.  Don’t feel like you have to over plan in the last few days, you can still have an enjoyable Disney vacation with spontaneity.  Just be flexible and patient if you encounter possible longer waits for certain things.

About Christy Caby

I am a long time Disney addict! This love began as a child and stayed with me in my teen years. I completed the Disney College Program, was engaged and honeymooned at Disney, visited WDW while pregnant with each of our two boys, and have brought our boys since they were babies (they are now 5 and 2). We have over 10 Disney World vacations under our belt. Our recent adventure was a big move from St. Louis, MO to Florida! We knew that we needed more Disney magic that just a couple times of year, and we worked hard to make it happen! Now we hit the parks almost every weekend! We are working to dine at every location, experience every attraction and look for every hidden Mickey! We want to be able to say that we have one it all! We are branching into the Cruise Line and are planning a trip to Disneyland in California next year. To say that we are Disney addicts may be an understatement. When I am not at WDW with my family, I am reading Disney blogs and news, crafting (usually Disney décor for our home), planning Disney vacations for others or working on my dissertation for my doctoral program. I am a Project Manager by profession, so I have mastered fitting everything into a tight schedule! We feel we lead an exciting life where we get to spend a lot of time together doing what we love! I love being able to this love and Disney magic with everyone else so that others can make the most of whatever time they get to have at the most magical place on earth!
