7. Don’t forget about the water parks

There are two different water parks on property, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach.  Both of these are great options for a last minute trip since the restaurants there don’t take reservations and there aren’t FastPass+ selections.  You have the same advantages as any other guest who shows up that day.  Plus, they are also just a ton of fun!

6. Make FastPass+ selections as soon as you can

Once you have your dates selected you will want to link your park tickets within My Disney Experience so that you can make FastPass+ selections.  We recommend buying your tickets in advance and doing this so that you can save time while there and get a better selection of FastPass+ times and options.

5. Enjoy counter service meal options via Mobile Order

Even if you have trouble getting your desired table service locations, there are still a ton of great quick service options at the counter service locations.  You also don’t have to waste time waiting in line to order since Disney has rolled out the Mobile Order service within the My Disney Experience app.  You are able to order and pay from the app and then just pick up your food at the pickup window when it is ready.  It is so convenient!

Even if you book a Disney vacation a couple weeks out, you can still get customized MagicBands.  Just link your reservation as soon as you have it in My Disney Experience and get the order complete.  Typically as long as you are within around 11 days ahead of your trip you can still customize and have time for them to be shipped to you at home.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
