By now, the Walt Disney Company has earned its family-friendly reputation in part by creating movies and theme parks that are fun and welcoming for the whole family. Some of the most essential features of these movies and theme parks are the happy endings and the fireworks at the end of the night. So when Disney combined the two and created Happily Ever After for Magic Kingdom, the nighttime spectacular was an instant hit.
Although fans adored the Happily Ever After fireworks show’s predecessor, Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams, nobody could deny the technological updates were well worth the tradeoff. Happily Ever After is one of the first fireworks shows in Magic Kingdom to include pyrotechnics, searchlights, lasers, and projection mapping across the iconic Cinderella Castle. These effects have become staples of Magic Kingdom nighttime spectaculars.

Nowadays, the nighttime spectacular currently being performed in Magic Kingdom is Disney Enchantment, as a part of the Most Magical Celebration on Earth (Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary). However, many fans have wondered if they would ever get the chance to see Happily Ever After again once the Most Magical Celebration on Earth ended.
