Price Increases Hit Some of Disney World’s Most Unique Souvenirs

Price hikes have hit several aspects of Disney vacations recently, and it seems the latest change is coming to some of the most unique souvenirs available to Guests.

The best Disney Park souvenirs are often the ones that come with special experiences, whether they be photos from character dining experiences, drawings created at the Animation Experience at Conservation Station, and more. Unfortunately for fans of Star Wars, a couple of the most memorable souvenirs from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The first price increase has come to Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers on Batuu, a very popular experience that allow Guests to join a group called the “Gatherers” to create their own lightsabers. The shop offers Guests one of the most immersive Star Wars experiences one can have outside of booking a trip on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, as Guests must work to keep the workshop hidden from the First Order and find the right Kyber crystals for their very own lightsaber.

Custom lightsabers have been one of the most expensive souvenirs since the opening of Black Spire Outpost, but the cost is now up to $249.99 plus tax, up from $219.99. Limited reservations are available (and held by a credit card guarantee) on Disney’s official website, along with complete information about what the experience includes.

Elsewhere in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it isn’t just lightsabers that are feeling the price hikes. Custom droids Guests can create at Droid Depot have gone up in cost as well. Up to $119.99 plus tax from $99.99, astromech droid units have remained a popular souvenir especially due to the customization options, however, we will need to see how much this holds true now that the droids are more expensive.

The droids are incredibly unique as Guests are able to customize the construction of them from start to finish, and there are several ways to upgrade droids based on your preferences. Like Savi’s Workshop, Guests can make reservations to create their own droids on Disney’s website.

Across Disney Parks, recent price hikes have also impacted the cost of theme park tickets at Disneyland Resort, food and beverage items, and Genie+ and Lightning Lane. We will continue to monitor updates on price changes from Disney Parks and will report back as we learn more here on Disney Tips.
