MagicBand+ is the latest Disney Parks essential accessory to make your vacation that much more magical. This wearable piece of technology houses Resort room keys, access to Lightning Lane entrances (with purchase of Individual Lightning Lanes or Disney Genie+) at select attractions, Park tickets, charging privileges, and so much more.

As the newest version of the original MagicBand, MagicBand+ will encompass all of the above plus new ways to further immerse yourself into Disney magic. The bands have already made their debut at the Walt Disney World Resort, and we now know when you can expect to see them at “The Happiest Place on Earth.”

MagicBand+ will officially debut at the Disneyland Resort on October 26, 2022, but there are a couple of ways that you could get your hands on the band even earlier. According to the Disney Parks Blog, eligible Cast Members, Magic Key holders, and Disney Vacation Club members will have the special opportunity to be the first to purchase MagicBand+ ahead of its official launch, with select locations offering them on October 19, 2022.

If you use any of these memberships to purchase yours, remember to bring your pass or membership card and a photo ID. Guests who are able to purchase the bands earlier can set them up immediately and being using them during their time in the Parks (with valid admission and a Disney Park Pass Reservation.)

Along with all of the features of the original MagicBand, the newest accessory will enhance select shows and experiences by showcasing its color-changing LED lights and vibrations. At the Disneyland Resort specifically, Guests will find their band syncing with performances of World of Color in Disney California Adventure and Fantasmic! in Disneyland Park.

The bands will continue to offer added effects to new nighttime spectaculars in the future, including World of Color – One and Wondrous Journeys, which are both set to debut on January 27, 2023, during the Disney 100 Years of Wonder anniversary celebration.

MagicBand+ will continue to offer Guests new immersive experiences alongside the Play Disney Parks app. Several offerings in the app can roll out at later dates, but to start, Guests with MagicBand+ can take part in Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters while exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland.

Thanks to this refreshed take on Disney’s patented wristwear technology, the same MagicBand+ can work at both the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort, with different features specific to each Resort. Of course, there will be specific MagicBand+ designs for each Resort, t00, so you may find yourself purchasing more than one new band anyway.

The Disney Parks Blog notes that beginning October 26, 2022, MagicBand+ will be available to purchase at the following locations:

Downtown Disney District: World of Disney, Disney’s Pin Traders
Disneyland park: Emporium, Pioneer Mercantile, Tomorrow Landing (reopening Oct. 26)
Disney California Adventure park: Elias & Co., Trolley Treats, Oswald’s, Seaside Souvenirs
Hotels of the Disneyland Resort: Disney’s Fantasia Shop, Mickey in Paradise, Acorns Gifts & Good

Will you be purchasing a new MagicBand+ on your next Disneyland vacation? Be sure to check back here on Disney Tips for all the latest news on MagicBand+ at both Disney Resorts.
