My Disney Cruise Line Experience During Covid Part 5: Entertainment

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, cruising has looked a lot different than it did previously. Many Guests wonder if this is the right time to go on a Disney Cruise because they think there will not be enough entertainment.

If you thought you would run out of things to do while on your Disney Cruise, you are mistaken. Although many things have been cut back, plenty of great options are still available to be entertained while onboard your Disney Cruise.

For those days at sea, there are plenty of areas to go. There are kids areas that are great for children of all ages. You will now need a reservation to be a part of the kid’s clubs. Disney’s Oceaneer Club is specifically for children 3 to 12 years old. If your teenager is looking for something to do, Vibe will be perfect for them.

There are karaoke nights and even game shows during different times throughout the day into the night. Some are for the entire family, and some are for those 18 and up.

If you want to find a way to get some extra steps in and solve the mystery at the same time, you will want to do the Midship Detective Agency. There are two different cases you can solve: the missing paintings and the missing puppies. I recommend doing both. It is a fun game, and who wouldn’t want to save some puppies?

There are also nightly movies that happened on the ship’s top deck. It is very peaceful to sit outside at night under the stars and watch a movie.

Some characters walk around throughout the ship, and they are very entertaining. Since there is limited capacity onboard, you can have more one-on-one interactions with them. They love to take selfies, so have your cameras with you at all times. On select nights there are character dance parties on Deck 12, so you can see many of your favorite characters all in one place.

Different cruises have different entertainment, and ours had a very talented group called Flight Crew who is based in Orlando. They did different jump rope tricks and were wowing the audience.

Last but not least, different stage performances will happen well on board. Frozen, A Musical Spectacular, Disney’s Believe, and Disney’s Aladdin- A Musical Spectacular were are the performances on our ship. There are two different showtimes that night, opposite your dining time reservations.

This is just a small list of what is available on the Disney Fantasy. So if you are wondering if it is worth booking your Disney Cruise at this time, the answer is yes.
