From the iconic Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom to the margaritas served at EPCOT, Guests have an array of options when it comes to refreshments at Walt Disney World’s four theme parks.

During the Florida Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration, Disney World has introduced numerous new treats, snacks, and dining locations at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and now, we have a brand new – and very unique – drink on offer.

Served at breakfast, the drink’s mix of coffee and alcohol is sure to help Guests power through the early morning theme park crowds!

This quirky Disney drink can be found at Boma – Flavors of Africa, a table-service buffet restaurant located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Hotel.

Boma – Flavors of Africa is located in Jambo House and features African-style cooking in a buffet setting. The buffet itself features items from fifty different African countries, and the restaurant was designed to resemble an open African marketplace. Boma is a word in Swahili meaning an enclosure, such as a fort or a livestock pen.

Disney Parks shared a video of the delectable new drink on its official TikTok page:

Disney describes the new drink as: “Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew with South African cream liqueur and coffee liqueur topped with whipped cream and a Zebra Dome”.

Yes, you read that right. A Zebra Dome on top of a drink! We’re not sure how things can get better than that.

The coffee-Kahlua flavored Zebra Dome is usually served during the dinner buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Boma and consists of a thin layer of white cake, a dome of Amarula Liqueur mousse, all coated in a white chocolate ganache with a dark chocolate ganache drizzle.

Here at Disney Tips, we can definitely taste a coffee flavor in the Zebra Dome, so pairing this with this new Cold Brew drink should be a match made in heaven. The mousse consistency of the Disney dessert is delicious, but the passion fruit mousse is definitely our favorite Boma pudding!

It’s also unusual to see Zebra Domes at breakfast at Boma, so Guests with morning reservations at the sought-after Disney dining location will be happy to get the chance to have these delectable little domes before they head to the Disney Parks.

Disney Guests can also purchase the Zebra Dome in the Deluxe Disney Resort Hotel‘s quick service location, The Mara, as a grab-and-go treat.

The Walt Disney World dessert has been linked with the legend of drunk elephants due to its Amarula Liqueur. This liqueur is made from the fruit of the African Marula tree, a fruit that is described as having a caramel flavor. There is a popular story from Zulu lore that says that elephants get drunk by eating the fermented fruit of the Marula tree as it rots on the ground.

The Marula tree is colloquially dubbed the “elephant tree”, and we’d sure love to see some intoxicated elephants staggering around the savannah at Disney’s Animal Kingdom like in Disney’s animated movie Dumbo (1941)!

During the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, restaurants like ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Boma had stopped offering the famous POG juice — that’s passionfruit, orange, and guava for those unfamiliar — due to a shortage during the pandemic.

Now, Disney has confirmed that the original supplier – Minute Maid – has returned to make this delicious jungle juice with the original recipe!

Guests at Boma – Flavors of Africa will therefore have plenty of options when it comes to ordering drinks at their next Disney vacation breakfast, from the new Striped and Spiked Cold Brew to the classic and refreshing POG juice.
