This heavily themed land shows off Walt Disney Imagineering’s prowess and industry-leading immersion. Pandora: The World of Avatar includes the iconic floating mountains shown in Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), themed food and drinks, themed flora (which even lights up at night), and two stunning attractions.

The Na’vi River Journey is a slow-moving journey through the forest of Pandora, complete with bioluminescent plants, animals, and the Na’vi themselves.

Flight of Passage is an exciting experience giving Guests a chance to “climb atop a winged mountain banshee for a breathtaking 3D flight over Pandora’s otherworldly landscape,” according to Walt Disney World Resort’s official website. Before the real fun begins, however, Guests sit and wait while they watch the pre-show, which explains the overall plot of the ride.

Here is a full video of the pre-show for anyone needing a refresher!

Right before you link with your Avatar and board your Ikran, the scientist says the iconic line, “You’ll be able to link to that Avatar, and, uh…fly!”

This line is admittedly a little silly, but because of its silliness, it’s become a well-beloved part of the experience. The actor who played the scientist in the pre-show is such a good sport that he created this t-shirt referencing the extraordinary ride’s…ordinary dialogue.

The familiar Papyrus font, the signature blue color, and the quote on the shirt are all clues for this super niche inside joke between those who love Animal Kingdom’s Flight of Passage.
