It seems there’s always change going on at Walt Disney World.
From new the TRON Lightcycle roller coaster at Magic Kingdom to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, Disney’s theme parks are continuously seeing updates.
As Walt Disney himself famously said, “‘Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world”, and now it seems some of this imagination is being put into one of Disney World’s Deluxe Resort Hotels.
We’ve seen major refurbishments of Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort recently, and now it seems Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is getting some love.

Starting March 1, 2022, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will undergo refurbishment. We are not sure if this involves restaurants, rooms, or outdoor pool areas, but the Deluxe Resort Hotel will remain open during this refurb. Disney has warned that Guests may see or hear construction during daytime hours.
Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available, including the famous Grand Floridian Spa.
Guests visiting Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom often head to Disney Springs or one of Disney’s two Water Parks – Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach – for some relaxation after a busy day riding attractions and getting a serious step count in.
Back on January 26, 2022, the Grand Floridian Spa reopened after its pandemic closure and refurbishment, offering Disney Guests some relaxation and new theming.

The Grand Floridian isn’t the only Monorail Resort to undergo a refurbishment lately, with both Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort receiving upgrades recently.
Disney Guests were excited to see Disney’s Polynesian Resort get some new Moana-inspired rooms, with Hei Hei, Moana, and Maui all making subtle appearances in these exciting rooms.
Some rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort got an Incredibles-themed makeover, showcasing the fun of the Disney/Pixar animated movie.
